This is an absolutely amazing story. These girls survived an extremely risky procedure, and survived! Sadly, one of them passed away :( but it is AMAZINGG how Gabrielle is still fighting today with all of her health issues, and is doing good in school! I am so proud of her, and wish her the best! I’m disabled with a debilitating genetic disorder. I’ve been to hell and back in my life - not because of disability but because of being abused for 43 years. Disability can be hard, no doubt, but often the hardest thing is the attitudes from others that we have to contend with. Now I love my life and am very excited and passionate about helping others to live and love theirs too, as a certified life coach. Please don’t judge our lives by what you think you could tolerate. I’ve had many people say to me that they couldn’t live with the issues I have, that they’d just kill themselves if they were in my shoes. Honestly, that’s very insulting. Yeah, I have challenges...but so does everyone else. All of our challenges are different, I can do many things that other - nondisabled - people can’t. Struggles are just part of life. I’m giving a lot of value to this world and my community and I love it. Don’t fall into the trap of using physical ability and limitations to define a person’s value and joy in life. They are two very different things.
