Let's discuss Phil Leotardo of The Sopranos, and his refusal to compromise in later seasons. Did Phil Leotardo do 20 years in the can? It's safe to say that he did. After all, he reminded us enough. He compromised in the can and when he got back out. He eventually had enough with Tony Soprano's glorified crew and stopped compromising.

Phils "no more Butchie" speech really had an effect on me and still kinda does , So often in life, we trade the big shit for the little shit. Settle for so little just because it's easier or less risky. Phil having so many regrets at the end of his life really made me think about my life when I saw it. I'm only 17 and only really started thinking about this scene maybe half a year ago, but it really changed my life. I won't compromise shit from now on, and even before I saw this I kinda had this idea in my head. I'm not gonna let some bullshit or fear get in the way of me living my fullest life, the life I really want to live. It's a shame though, because this attitude is what ultimately killed Phil. But I don't want to have regrets when I'm old like him, so I'll try my best to truly live my life.

That’s a good perspective to have. The Sopranos is a a show with so many layers, and the theme of regret is one we can learn from. Don’t compromise your full potential for those that don’t deserve it.

I wish we knew how long Phil went to the can for, he never mentioned it....

If Phil saw your comment, he'd say "I did 20 f****n' years!"

As much as everyone just memes about him, he was actually one of the best mobsters on the show. Perhaps the only one with any sense of purpose and loyalty even at his own expense.
