@@Tom19142 No, but I prefer to keep the Eiffel Tower Up. And I hope they do something crazy with the Notre Dame. People need to take risks sometimes and we should really allow a bit more chaos into our lives. The original Notre Dame Spire was an add on in itself in the first place. And reconstructing it as it were would just be boring. Or reconstructing with conservative designs. A modern touch is what I would love to see on the Notre Dame. It's time to take a risk and I'm looking forward to what they're gonna build on it

Unless you owned pamphlet/newspaper printers or had network connections with those that worked in the printing industry back then, the process to counterfeiting was more laborious even if producing the counterfeit product itself was "easier". Printers (as in public print shops like Xerox) were still pretty private and rare in those days.

:) Agree. On the other hand, someone who is fixated to the opportunity of getting lots of money the easy way, he/she will make poor decisions. ... and that fallacy used to be an important part of the story. I read about this in a French history magazine a few years ago. It's not a commonly known story and your video is totally in accord with the article. In France "Poisson!" is the equivalent of "April Fool!" I wonder if there is a connection. The opinions that I received from French people is, maybe yes, maybe no, or possibly.
@cwak81215 жыл бұрын
Actually nope, poisson doesn't mean april fools in french. Although you're pretty close, since poisson = fish and we say : Poisson d'avril (April's fish)
@thistlenstar5 жыл бұрын
@@cwak8121 Yes, maybe I should have been more clear, not equivalent in literal meaning, but equivalent in the expression that someone has fallen for an April Fool's Day prank. Obviously and probably, it could refer to someone being caught like a fish, but, you have to admit it's quite a coincidence. So, it pique my interest. Is Poisson a common surname in France? Some of my French friends have said that they are not sure how far back this particular expression goes. Certainly, if it predates 1925, then the answer is obvious. Thank you for your response.
