My father is also serving as a ship captain for more than 40 years. My own uncle was also a ship captain in Bangladesh. His passenger ship sank in 2017. He gave his life to fulfill his duty. We never found his body. He is lost at sea.

in April 2014, similar incident happen in south Korea ferry disaster where around 306 people died in which most them was high school students (maybe 250 std. 🤔) and other passenger too. Not only the sinking ship was lost but also slow response & evacuation procedure from the Captain and in the end the captains crew tell everyone to stay where they are, while he escaped from a lifeboat.💔🙄

I was on this ship as a photographer and about to go home in 20 days, but this incident happened. On that night, I went to take photos of the group of 21 French people around 8-8:30pm. Later I understood that this was the group who asked the captain( Schettino, in Italian it pronounce like ''Skettino'' not shhettino.) to take the ship lil closer to island. it's usual routine for the ships to go close to island when passing by(maybe because of tourism purpose), but that night it way too close. I managed to save 2 crew members with the help of other couple of Indian crew, sadly I dont meet them later. The Italian guy who we saved, tattooed his arm with '' Thank you India''.
