Everytime I see this scene, I get angry at the mother. The concubine thinking she has rights of the main wife was all because of her. From covering up her mistakes , to over praising, even running the household. She preaches rules but at every turn she has bypass Shiyi and given responsibilities to Lianfang and she's surprise that she thinks this way? Smh

I feel you. She was awful. She only brought up the family rules when she wanted to control Shiyi/Lingyi. She never once thought about the family rules when it came to Lianfang. She broke every family rule to placate that evil woman. She shouldn't be surprised that she doesn't know her place. If she had honored the family rules from the beginning then Lianfang would've known her place as a concubine. She did so much damage to her family because of her prejudice.

Well this is the monster that the GM created/now she's surprised that Lianfang is acting like the legal wife. She placated her. She favored her. She protected her. She gave her the power/authority to run the household when that honor belonged to the legal wife/she's surprised that Lianfang doesn't know her place. She's to blame for Lianfang acting out. She's to blame for every time Lianfang schemed/harmed the Xu family. If she had punished her every time she harmed the family then she wouldn't have escalated. Now she wants to praise Shiyi because her little pet let her down. Lianfang just doesn't know when to give up. She's still plotting to overthrow Shiyi. The reality is she doesn't have what it takes. Every time she plots it doesn't end well. Her plotting is what's drawing Lingyi/Shiyi closer. She can't hold a candle to Yuanniang's scheming....lol She accomplished exactly what she set out to do which is why Lianfang is a concubine instead of the legal wife.
