I'm actually playing something similar to this. He's a goblin whose baridc magic awoke while he was rehearsing a play he just finished watching. Now he travels to write a play of his own. It's basically the same as this, except I wanted to use eloquence since I've already done a glamor bard before.

I've actually thought of using the same exact combination of race and classes before! The backstory idea I had was that the character escaped from a warband of hobgoblins where they were treated poorly for being too soft and weak. They made ends meet by playing in taverns and such (Enthralling Performance could help people get past their prejudices against hobgoblins if that fits the setting), eventually running into the party. I'm envisioning a story arc conclusion where the party confronts the hobgoblin chieftain that treated the character so poorly, and the character gets to show them that kindness and support go much further than ruthlessness when it comes to inspiring your allies.

Sorry that I just constantly berate you comments with ideas in advance lmao. The hunters whirlwind attack and horde breaker mixed with being a rune knight is nuts. Be a duergar for enlarge. First giants might, then enlarge, if you have a wizard ask them to haste you. Action whirlwind attack next turn, and within 5 feet extends your range a ton I believe it’s a 20*20 radius, then hasted action attack and you get horde breaker with this, yes it works. Then move if need be, and action surge whirlwind attack. This can literally be like hundreds of attacks. Boom tasmanian devil

I made a summoning focused conductor in PF1E worshipping Shelyn. Never got to play her, but the plan was to add summons to the battlefield and then buff them and her allies flavoring it as directing them through divine inspiration.

I love Order Cleric. I would say that you probably want at least 2 people who make weapon attacks to target with your ability. With just one sometimes they get locked down or are having trouble getting into the fight.

My favorite class combo is Order Cleric 1 Lore Bard X. I go Dwarf to dump strength and still get heavy armor, Duerger from the PHB is an interesting choice because you can mitigate the sunlight sensitivity by having ZERO spell attacks given Bard's penchant for save spells. Lore lets you use cutting words as a reaction and get magical secrets early. I take Spirit Guardians and grab Telekinetic feat to weaponize bonus action shoves into it for more damage since inspiration is now reaction based penalties on the enemy. Good defence, good offense, lots of utility spells and between pilfering counter spell, silvery barbs and cutting word nerfs to the enemy, and extra attacks for your rogue it makes a great asset to the team. TL;DR Lore Bard dwarf is a cool Order Cleric combo too

Thought of this after the fact, I might as well add the fact the dwarven racial feat to roll a hit die when using dodge is slept on imo. Cleric starts with Wisdom proficiency, resilient Constitution is good for any caster and Dodge gives you advantage on Dexterity saves for the turn. Cover your three main saves and heal while you're at it? Hell, grab a Helm of Intellect and Ogre Gauntlets for outlier saves and Bard tank lmao

I would build a character using the reactions of their team mates... Pretty much exactly like that. Might change up the race because you do have a number of bonus action uses already. A really funny option is hexblood for the free hex. Use it on an ally, target a check they're unlikely to use and there's yet another free reaction sneak attack. If fairy isn't banned, it gets flight and is small in exchange for medium armour, but also gets a free casting of enlarge/reduce, which is a pretty good spell that also triggers voice of authority.

Free spells aren't using a spellslot though. Voice only trigger when you use one.

This is definitely my favorite build I've ever played. It's one that I will go back to once I start playing in my next full campaign. I probably won't be using Hobgoblin, but instead I'll be using an Eladrin elf. Spring can teleport an ally, or you can use it as a defensive bonus action to gtfo. If you get knocked to 0 as a support, the party suffers a lot. So, you owe it to your party to find a way to stay alive.

Love this build! So flavourful and thematic to how a bard/support could be! Is there any reason other than the investment in strength to not make use of the heavy armour proficiency from order cleric?

14 DEX is just less of an investment than 15 in STR, and Dex saves or often better than STR. However, heavy armor would be fine still and can even not meet the STR requirement and just move a little slower

I like this better then the Battlefield Commander build that uses the same structure. But I really don’t like that it has to use The same combination of race/cleric/bard.

You could just use 1 level dip into order domain cleric and the rest into any other caster class. Wizard is especially good because you get Vortex warp/silvery barbs/whither and bloom, which will all trigger a reaction attack, then you can recover spell slots on a short rest with arcane recovery. Sorcerers are also really good because you can burn sorcery points to get back spell slots. Hobgoblin has the most support benefits, but you could really be any race with this build. I played the character as a variant human old, retired war vet who commands the battlefield. Decided to get inspiring leader for starting temp HP in the fight, not very useful because I end up replacing any back line fighter's temp HP, but it was fun.

Not sure it qualifies as a conductor but for sake of one hell of a defensive bastion support tank (I know it's a mouthful but hear me out), I use 2 levels Peace Domain Cleric, 6 levels path of the ancestral guardian barbarian, and the rest in Order of the Ancients Paladin. The end result is a heavily armored sword and board type paladin, great saves for everyone thanks to our aura, healing, resistance and reduced damage for everyone during a rage, great passive support spells that won't require concentration, and decent damage output all on one high HP High AC body. That said the one downside to the build is balancing the stats. We dump intelligence but everything else we need in the 16 to 18 range, maxing stats out is going to be tricky for this build and a bit users choice.

I would build a “College of Whispers” Bard, with “Dragonborn” as the race for the “dragon fear” feat. The idea is for the conductor to weaponize the frightened condition.

I would have build my version of this by going 3 levels into battle master for commanders strike, and I would have gone into valor bard because it can allows your Allie’s to add bardic inspiration to AC and attack rolls. Then I also would have gone 3 levels into artificer picking up artillerist subclass for the protector cannon. Lastly, I would have gone a level into peace cleric. I would focus on getting maxed out charisma along with getting the inspiring leader feat for more temporary hit points. All together that is roughly 11th level valor bard, 3rd level artillerist artificer, 3rd level battle master, and 3rd level peace cleric. I would play a dwarf so that you don’t need to invest in strength or dexterity, and still wear heavy armor. Then I’d try to have at least a 14 in constitution, intelligence, and wisdom with charisma being 20.

Yeah, it would work. The video build uses hobgoblin for the bonus action help, but the race doesn't make or break the build. However, getting the chef feat might be a bit less than constructive, only reason being you can already provide a lot of temp HP as a glamour bard. Temp HP doesn't stack (unless your DM says it does) RAW.

Im really considering this build w/ changes that i cant decide on. I saw this build and then i saw D4's cleric/bard build. both builds gave amazing points and features. I plan to heal and support w/ this build as the team consists of a barbarian/fighter, gloomstalker ranger, homebrew monk, a homebrew warlock, and a time wizard(damage set): Order ('extra attack') Or Life (better heals) And Glamor (movement and temp hp) Or Lore (more magic secrets and a psuso bane as reaction)

Life/Lore has good healing, pick up aura of vitality and goodberry for your magical secrets. Done deal, super healer. I'd like to point something out about the glamour bard though. Pick up catnap, select metamagic adept as a feat, make sure one of the metamagics is extended spell. At 10th level you get magical secrets pick up wall of force. When the party gets into a tough fight and they need a break, use mantle of inspiration to gather your party together as your bonus action, then use your action to cast wall of force with extended spell to protect your party. Extended spell makes wall of force last 20 minutes. Then give some party members catnaps. You can have your party take a short rest mid combat if the situation is right.

Ba to command strike [if order] Spell to heal or support + command strike - would probably use a race with feat to get a familiar to grant adv and use other action. - would probably be peace cleric, because +1d4 to attack and saving throws make bless a busted a spell, being able to stack it with another 1d4 mean bounded accurasy is absolutly broken yes, that is less attacks in average than using your build, but you know... peace cleric...

I am currently like this Eladrin race Cleric of the order Lvl1/Bard of Glamor lvl 5 At bard lvl 4 I raised my charisma characteristic to 20 I am in doubt what skills to take later. You gave me an idea to just fuse some of your previous builds together, Battlemaster Fighter (5)/ Mastermind Rogue (7) / Order Domain Cleric (8) It will allow you to focus more on Wisdom and as well, if you start with Fighter + Uncanny Dodge the Bless Concentration Checks are a walk in the Park. You can be an Archer who directs the Team from the backlines, and it's also able to debuff and attack from the backlines.

So the problem I ran into with the order domain cleric is that they burn through spell slots really quickly. The more you class into characters without any spell slots the harder it is going to be to play as a support. However, I think your idea pulls from resources other than spell slots so it can be really strong. How strong is it going to be before 20th level? That's when most people get to play their characters.

Centering in a Lvl 10 Campaign, you can go Battlemaster Fighter (4) Rogue (2) and Order Domain Cleric (4), given that Mastermind is not Incredibly important to this, and the only reason that i went to 7th Level was because of evasion and decent Sneak Attack, but really, the idea of using Maneuvering Attack and Healing Word to move two of your Party members, while you can still get a Sneak Attack off, sounds really enticing.

@@arcangherss999 I actually changed this build once I got to play it. I decided that two levels into genie warlock would be perfect, get two short rest spell slots back. The only issue is that it slows down your progression to magical secrets. You know, I don't think you need battlemaster to make that build work. Maybe if you went Arcane trickster rogue x/order domain cleric 1 you could have a decent number of spell slots, still get sneak attack, and support your allies. Silver barbs can be gained from the arcane trickster because it's an enchantment spell. I'm imagining this being a rogue with a bow. Just an idea, what are your thoughts? Other than how ironic it is to have a trickster/Order anything lol.

@@fledgling9097 Actually that sounds kind of neat! And it centralizes on Charisma, which is better. I mean, nothing is ever mandatory, my original comment was basically meant as a fusion from some of the previous "Battle Commander" types. I would argue that Battle Master Fighter gives you More Superiority Dice that recharge on a short rest (assuming you are only using them to move your party around) while still giving you damage output. I mean (even though I usually hate how this can be used) Action Surge can allow you to move Three Allies in the same turn with this strategy, by using two low level spells OR superiority dice. I hate it because Spellcasters shouldn't be able to take advantage of Action Surge more than Fighters actually can, but it works for this build. Bard/Warlock is also an awesome combination as well, would definitely recommend Talisman in this case if you wanna go full support, although that would take three levels of Warlock. Magical Secrets is cool, but not really relevant to this build unless there's something that you REALLY want from it, which i would like to know from you.

@@fledgling9097 Also, Arcane Trickster and Order Domain Cleric does work thematically! Picture this: "Everything must go in their place, and even inside the grand scheme of the Global Expansion of the Universe, Entropy is part of that Order." You are that little bit of Entropy in the Universe, adding just a tiny bit of Chaos into those that think they know how things should be. You foil the plans of the Arrogant, while conducting your well aligned Party to victory. You supplant other People's Order with your own Symphony, taking over Battlefield with your Control. Sounds pretty neat.

I think that without the silver barbs the build doesn't work 100%, you can use other spells to target your allies, but it won't be as good as the silver barbs

Order domain clerics ability. Voice of authority. Targeting an ally with spell lvl 1+ that ally can use their reaction to make one weapon attack. "If multiple ally are targeted you chose the ally that makes the attack"
