The actual family this happened to had said when they would have paranormal experiences it was almost like they were in a bubble. No matter how loud they were no one else would wake up. They said they had to start going to the bathroom at night with a partner. So you were never alone. Kind of of explains the scene with the pictures falling and mom yelling not waking anyone up.

@@Nope2022HugeTheWarningFan I don’t believe in possession or demons but I think there’s something to the whole ghost phenomenon. Not sure what it is but I’ve had a couple minor experiences and have friend and family I know and trust who have had some more major ones as well. You’re absolutely correct about the activity getting worse after the Warrens. The other thing a lot of people don’t know was that at the end of the seance (not an exorcism in the real story) Carolyn Perron, the mother, was physically thrown out of her chair and into the next room and the Perrons ended their relationship with the Warrens by Roger Perron punching Ed and throwing them both out of their house. Then the family continued to live in the house for 8 or so more years. The Warrens in reality were just a tiny chapter of the story that went on for that decade they lived there.

The link with Annabelle is because it was one of Warren's more high profile cases. In this case I believe they showed it just to "help" contextualize that the Warren's are actual demonologists, rather than relying only on them saying it during a TED Talk . Her existence is not tied to the events on this movie (as far as I know) If I am not mistaken, they still have the Annabelle, to this day, on their museum.

She also was a HUGE fan of Insidious and because I enjoyed this, I gave Insidious a shot, and I liked it as well. In the beginning, they showed the story of Annabelle because it is their most famous case. It was a sideways introduction to the Warrens. That’s all. Yes, the case really did exist and Conjuring 2 was a real case… one I’ll never forget. It was all over the three tv stations and papers. I have a lot of interviews with the Warrens, and especially from this case and the case in Conjuring 2. The girl that was possessed turned out to be “strange” in real life, but her sister is the one that wrote the books and was like the spokes person of the family. I have videos of the tour you can take at the Warren’s museum. In the scene where Lili Taylor is in Ed & Loraine’s class, the camera pans up from the lower rows of the class to higher, where you get a close up of Lili Taylor. The real Lorraine Warren is in that shot, I think about three rows up. Now that the Warrens have passed (or have they!?) the son-in-law, Judy’s husband, runs the tours.

So um, not so fun fact, I guess… When Ed said “our presence will probably make things worst”, he wasn’t really lying. Well, not completely at least. In real life one of the daughters ( Andrea Perron) wrote a book about their experience, & it was completely different from what we saw in this movie. The family was also interviewed, & they said that the Warrens actually made things worse. Ed & Loraine tried to perform a seance to try talking to the spirit & that after they tried doing that, Roger Perron just kicked them out lol. Which is hilarious to me because in the movie they perform a whole exorcism. Just goes to show how far people are willing to go when it comes to lying or “stretching the truth”. These movies are classics, & definitely entertaining, but not at all “based on a true story”.

Andrea Perron (the older sister) describes it like a force field that prevented any noise or interaction to happen within that space, similar to being paralyzed. A very creepy experience indeed!

This movie is in g at based on a true story, and the scariest thing about this movie is that in real life…..Andrea Perron (the oldest sister) gave the producers a whole list of details as to what truly happened to her family in that house, but the producers turned it down because it would’ve been too scary for the movie and it was an R rated movie. Now some differences between the movie and the reality of it are this: 1: the actual house looks completely different and is still standing today (the house in the movie was just a sound stage) 2: there was no pond in the backyard, and the basement is much bigger in real life, it actually can hold a lot a people especially because there’s a small room in the basement 3: there are several spirits that haunt the home, but the main ones are 7 dead soldiers, and a woman with a broken neck which when the home was used as a daycare at one point…..one of the kids was in the basement room, and drew a picture of a woman with a broken neck in the cabinet. As for the story of Bathsheba, Lorraine Warren got her story wrong and completely blamed her for the whole thing. There’s no actual evidence supporting that Bathsheba was ever a witch, or connected to anyone who did witchcraft, and there’s no evidence of her sacrificing her baby and proclaiming her love to Satan. She, her husband Jedson, and their two kids (son and daughter) are all buried in a cemetery that is close by to the property of the home “Old Arnold Estate” but because of the movie….Bathsheba’s grave was destroyed many times. With the exorcism part of that movie….that never happened in real life, it was just a seance but it didn’t go very well because once Carolyn started being affected almost to the point where the family thought she was dead…..Roger Perron punched Ed Warren in the face, and kicked the Warrens out especially since they had showed up to the Perron house uninvited with a camera crew. The Warrens did this case free of charge, and just wanted to help but they sadly only made things worse.

You can look up the real Annabelle doll in the Warren's Ocult museum. The real one is actually a raggedy Ann doll

Andrea Perron, the eldest daughter of the family that actually went through this ordeal is my co-author!! The TRUE story is even more terrifying than the film. They lived in the house for 10 years!!

It's based on a true story in so much as Ed and Lorraine Warren were real people, they did investigate paranormal reports (most of the time leading to simple explanations such as water pipes, electrical problems, etc) but occasionally having some evidence of paranormal activity, and i believe there are actual video tapes and audio recordings of these events. How real they are is up for debate. Annabelle is real in that the doll itself actually exists, though it's more of a raggedy Anne doll than a porcelain figurine. And the artifact room does also exist.
