​@@urkdngrite The only part inspired by real events is the part with the nursing student and you could maybe argue Annabelle Comes Home was loosely based on the stuff the Warrens claim happend around the doll but the rest of it was all a made-up origin story for a haunted doll that already had an origin story. There was no reason for the two ridiculous prequels. In the Conjuring they have the nursing student talk about how they invited a little girl ghost who was haunting them into the doll after a psychic tells them the ghost wants to play with it. The Warrens then tell the nursing student that there was no little girl and they actually invited a demon to live in the doll. Why they had to do the ridiculous backstory when the doll already had a perfectly good origin story that they already used.

The end of the original Annabelle film where the woman buys the doll for her daughter studying to become a nurse is a reference to the real Annabelle as the girl who owned it was given it by her mum and was in school studying when strange occurrences started happening, where the doll begins to move, leave notes and attack them and the real ed and Lorraine later investigated the case and took it where to this day it is at their home protected in a case with a crucifix and other holy things to contain and Ed and Lorraine’s son now guards it along with hundreds of other cursed objects.
