Ju-On and even the first two Grudges are my favorite horror movies and I was disappointed with how heavy-handed things were in the trailer when the originals were all about atmosphere and dread with long build-ups and brief but powerful payoffs. The lack of Kayako taking center stage surprised me too, because like… it's her, she's the curse. She is often a very tangible entity, even… Oh well.

If I had a chance with The Grudge- I'd definitely make it a "tv series" on like, Netflix or something like that. Make it an anthology series and each season would focus on a different person/family experiencing The Grudge. I'd make it a psychological-horror, specifically for the purpose of diving into the mental state of someone who becomes possessed by The Grudge, but also the build-up to how each "grudge" plays into how they get possessed. So much wasted potential.
