A huge thanks for this video. It is the first time I’ve heard our history (Welsh history) expressed so honestly by an Englishman.

What is the most important among the four key words I think is civilization, and commerce follows. Historically, conquest and colonization could be seen in many cases of the disappeared old empires, but only by spreading so-called civilization across its colonies, could the British Empire acquire a not worst ending when it experienced a decline in power as all empires ever confronted. Thank you!

I wonder when England will own being English instead of hiding behind a word of Welsh origin (British)

Hi, British comes from Brettas Brition of Celtic origin, akin to Welsh Brython Briton. According to Dr. Stephen Oppenheimer trained in medicine at Oxford University, both Anglo-Saxons and Celts have the same ancestry that can be traced back to Basques in Spanish. If so, the differences between them, at least in a sense of gene pool, should not be overstated. The British Empire has gone with the wind, but so called modern civilization it partly created and involved in the past 400 years still remains. If history is any indication, I believe, searching for a possible result from myriad of events will be much more meaningful than accepting a ready-made ethical or ethnical conclusion without hesitation. Perhaps you can tell me much more about these. Thank you!

The English aren't British, they like to state they are for personal acclaim because of who the Welsh descend from. They never self identified as British until after the rise of the Tudors. Any use of the word British prior to this date relating to the English is not only incorrect, but a straight up lie, and theft of another cultures history.

@Truth Before Opinions: Once again you're spouting your bigoted shit. A DNA test was recently done on the school children and schoolmasters in an English village. One of the English schoolmasters turned out to have DNA that went back all the way to Celtic Britain.

@@Frankowillo I believe what matters is culture, which means everyone should try to learn how to understand each other and how to become a friendly neighbour with others on the planet. The evidence of gene pool is a good sign to fill in the gap, but the construction of a real bridge depends on the cooperation of variety of cultures. Thank you!

U should also note what they did in Ireland; The Rathlin Island massacre..... Just off the coast of Ireland on 26 July 1575. More than 600 Scots and Irish were killed.
