Oh, gee, another episode to listen to for me! It's your face that I wait (im)patiently each Monday to see :)

Thank you for the is video. I have been really struggling with my channel. I feel like the harder I try to keep my videos fun, simple and funny I get killed with comments from pros. I seem to get a lot of flak about my presentations, lack of specs, even how I use my own gear in my own videos via emails and Facebook messenger. So I caught myself trying to change my style from trying out mics for enthusiasts to making videos to get their approval. I get no joy from that. It has brought me to a brought me to a place where I was contemplating just hanging it all up. To hear this from you has changed my outlook, and I am gonna push through this struggle. Thank you Tom 🙏🏻

NICE MIC!! 😃 Also, great episode! I do think the enthusiast route is the best to take. I’ve had a hard time “bridging the gap” between “pro” and enthusiast 😆 which seems weird, but it’s a bit of a struggle with every video. I am trying to work it out though!

Another great episode. For anyone interested in the opposite type of pro’s on filmmaking KZbinr I’d recommend Luc Forsyth, Mark Bone/ Art of Documentary and Austin Meyer. Very good at teaching and sharing fundamental concepts.

I didn't realize that your entry into hockey was SO rough. Glad you managed to get past it! I'll never forget my first game on ice. I had already played roller hockey for years in the parking lot, and had gone to several public skates to transfer skills and practice hockey stops. But when on the ice for the first time in full equipment, I whiffed on my first shot attempt in warmups and fell. I was maybe 10 years old? I had no concept that you could experience anything so humbling 🤣

Oh man, it was brutal! I did the same thing with my first shot attempt too haha. I had finally managed to get into the middle of the drill, tried to shoot, missed the puck and fell over. I was like 37 years old though 🫠

3:25 I'm curious, what are the advantages and disadvantages of side address or end address mics? Also, why do you suppose side address are the standard for condensers?
