I like how, at one point, one of the guitarists gets on a xylophone, the other guitarist gets on a keyboard, and the keyboardist gets on a guitar.

@@rancelvalerio23 Not a stupid question at all. The device he grabs is called an electronic bow for a guitar. It sends a continuous small electric signal through a guitar string to sustain notes indefinitely, or something like that. They go for $100 on Guitar Center.

Language is the only album I have ever connected to at a higher spiritual level. Sure, other albums get me emotional and I truly appreciate them, but the ambient sounds, intricacy of vocals, carefully chosen instrumentation, pitches, and more just take me to a whole new level of consciousness. I love you guys. Thanks for the rediscovery. :]

"In other words, the so called involuntary circulation of your blood is one continuous process with the stars shining. If you find out that it's YOU who circulates your blood, you will at the same moment find out that you are shining the sun. Because your physical ordinance is one continuous process with everything else that's going on. Just as the waves are continuous with the ocean, your body is continuous with the total energy system of the cosmos. And it's all you. Only you are playing the game. Me too brother. It made me realize alot of shit I've been struggling with and been being an asshole about. It was an amazing experience that I'm glad happened. And I watched an interview with the singer of this group. I can't put into words how much of a great human being you are for doing what your doing. I had a cousin who was basically my bro. He passed when I was a junior in high school. Playing guitar was what me and him did all the time.Ihad alot of potential, that's what I was told by many people I didn't believe in myself and Instead I chose drugs over music to numb the pain, and didn't follow my intuition. You got alot of heart man. I'm so glad that I took the time to watch that interview and your guys albums mean a shit ton more to me now. Thankyou

@@seancurry2531 In general: great statement/message, mate :) I just would disagree in the uncritical praise of LSD in the comment you replied to. Much of the same effect is just due to music and taking time to talk and reflect/introspect. Having experienced a a friend losing his mind over supposed safe and "spiritual" drugs (in his case "just" cannabis) I'm kinda cautious when people give "softer" drugs a free pass - especially when it is stuff like LSD. He developed a schizophrenic psychosis in our skiing trip and never was the same for several years, he later found a somewhat normal life (through some medication) but never was the same again. So while I'm quite liberal regarding drugs in general I still try to raise awareness when it seems to an uncritical praise or a solution for real problems (like in the first comment). Some other recent musical masterpiece (other than Clairvoyant) regarding this topic is Antimatter's "Black Market Enlightenment" (where Mic Moss also talks about his own psychological struggle through drugs in a short making of on the bonus DVD on the Album).

@@Xul exactly why psychedelics should be legalized, at the very least clinically. That way someone could get properly tested for underlying conditions prior to tripping. Based on all the studies that have been done, odds are that your friend would have had a psychotic break sooner or later. Psychedelics don't typically cause psychotic breaks, they force them out. You'd have to really be abusing the shit out of psychedelics to have lasting mental effects.
@Xul
@Xul 2 жыл бұрын
@@VoraxUmbra Oh he *did* abuse the shit out of them being basically a walking cannabis plant ;) But, most of us didn't really bother since we were naive teenagers and it was "just" marihuana. Yeah I'm totally for legalization of most (if not all) drugs via controlled use. Prohibition just doesn't work and gives rise to such issues of abuse and uninformed use. And of course it creates crime problems that otherwise wouldn't be that uncontrollable.

Idk, a lot of this music seems like its only intellectually stimulating but emotionally dead. @@keykeeperwingo wingos wingo hahaha you just made my day man. No I don't watch Rick and Morty. I think Dan Harmon did amazing with community but just don't seem to find the time to watch the show. I'm not actually making fun of the show in saying what I did, instead I'm being ironic and making fun of the fanbase and how they think they are so intelligent because they watch it. But thanks for the little lecture. Really drove home my joke. R/woosh. As for the song I think to say a song is devoid of emotion because they are technical or too focused on intellectual stimulation is ridiculous. Emotion in music is completely subjective so to say some one has too much iq is a bit odd to me. I respect his opinion but definitely don't think it is true. This is why I mocked him by comparing him to the Rick and Morty fanbase meme of "I have such a high iq". Also I don't think he is saying the lyrics aren't emotional but the instrumental Melody instead.

I don't get how people can say that no good music comes out anymore, when stuff like this is coming out. One of my favorite songs of all time, from one of my favorite bands of all time!

All the way from Exoplanet to here. Can't say that I've ever been disappointed in anything that The Contortionist has put out. Thank you for this.

Back in 2021, who listening still? Idk if it's just me but I'm also really into rap now. But for those who know, a Rediscovered Contortionist and JID/ Earthgang collab would be dope or no? Both rappers just enjoy sound and imo this beat has a comparable vibe for them. They love their African and Musical representation when they can grt it

This is so beautiful, so deep and full. I feel like this version is a perfect reresentation of the emotions of the song, and I'd say I like this one a million times more than the first version.
