It gives the feel of an apartment and less of a ship cabin. Very nice.

A very good video - detailed and well stated plus I am addicted to your accents LOL ! We love cruising with folks from the UK as they are lively, have a keen sense of humor and are so genuinely lovely ! Question please: when you open your veranda window, does it effect the AC ? If so, can you close those bi-folds when sleeping and keep the veranda window open without affecting the AC such that you can still hear the ocean presumably ? Cheers dears !!!! marcia
@CruiseMonkeys5 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, opening the window will deactivate the AC. What we would do is then keep the doors closed as this would help keep the room cool. Not sure this would work for a long period like overnight though..

My friends are on their Edge right now and one loves it and his husband hates it. After issues with balcony neighbors on a few cruises, including one that ran almost a 24 hour poker game on the balcony I would happily book this room!

Quite like the look of the infinite balcony….. looks like you get more privacy from the people on either side and maybe less likely to hear them chatting? 😀. No way enough wardrobe space for us on a two week cruise 😂. Looking forward to the series ❤
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
Yes, it feels far more private and cuts out on the noise for sure! It does seem a theme on new ships, a lack of wardrobes! Hope you enjoy the vlogs!
@deenah99 Жыл бұрын
I like the look of the infinite balcony! I agree with the new ships cutting storage/space but will say that Odyssey of the Seas had 2 nice wardrobes and we found that we didn't even fill it. @@CruiseMonkeys

We have only sailed on the Edge from the Edge Class and we stayed in a Sky Suite with a standard veranda. I can't wait to hear how the week goes since we are planning an infinite veranda on either Apex or Beyond soon! Enjoy your cruise guys!

Looks really nice and you can have it as a traditional balcony if you shut the adjoining doors. Was this classed as obstructed as the lifeboat was just below?
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s really nice. It’s not your traditional balcony feel, it’s far more private. Really nice. No, they didn’t, thankfully our agent did - she had a cheaper balcony but suggested avoid that as it was more obstructed. Don’t think the deck plan shows anything either 🤷♂️
@nealeTH Жыл бұрын
I’d heard that the main problem with the infinite veranda is that the air conditioning switches off when you open the window which means the room can get very hot.
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
We didn’t find this too much of an issue even in the Caribbean, as the room would soon cool back down. It’s not often one of us would be in the seating area and the other in the room to notice to be honest.
@vickil1918 Жыл бұрын
Have been looking at this ship for a Caribbean cruise. My concern is as someone who is getting to the stage of life where overheating is an issue, if you have the window open and as I believe this switches the AC off - does this cause too much humidity in the room? Great vlog too lads. Look forward to seeing your trips. :)
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
To be honest, we didn’t really notice it too much but you could close the dividing doors, so it’s more traditional style, that way they prevent the heat getting in to the room 😀

Was this an obstructed balcony? Did it say when you booked? We have an upcoming cruise on the Ascent with a room on deck 7 but should we go higher?
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
This wasn’t sold as an obstructed cabin. It’s not obstructed really, if you were any higher and looked down you’d always see the lifeboat. Usually cabins located mid ship and low down are more stable so if you suffer seasickness those rooms would be best. Hope this helps 🤞🏻
@lisagraves7390 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the video. I booked an identical room on the Edge, going to Alaska in June. I didn't know that the lifeboats would be in my view until after I booked it. Did they bother you at all? I'm afraid that I'll regret picking this room instead of getting one on a higher deck.
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
Hope it was useful! In all honesty, they didn't bother us at all. As you tend to look out rather than down, it wont obstruct things :)

worth checking the deck plans before booking, it will cost more to get other cabins. We tend to compromise :)

The STUPID thing about the Infinite Veranda is that there are NO CURTAINS for the folding doors. In a traditional balcony you always have curtains by the doors, so if somebody whats to be out on the balcony, you can still close the curtains and have privacy and DARKNESS for the other person(s) in bed. It's an easy fix for the cruise line though -- curtains are neither difficult nor expensive to add behind the folding doors. But, as of today, the Edge Class ships don't have them.
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
Very good point! Those doors don’t have any effect on blocking out light.
@alvalantine Жыл бұрын
if you open the window you room gets warm right away no way to keep the hot humid weather with an infinite balcony. Hate them with a passion.
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
You could close the folding partition then it’s just like a conventional balcony cabin then. The partition would stop the heat and humidity coming in and keep the room cooler. The only thing we hated was that it gets locked from the bridge, like how can they charge for a balcony when all you’re getting is an ocean view in that case.
@heathermichael39876 ай бұрын
They did that because it’s safer for the ship .
@CruiseMonkeys6 ай бұрын
Good to know 👍
@davidtavakoli5858 Жыл бұрын
If one person wants to sleep and the other wants to be on the balcony, there's absolutely no way to keep the room dark. Infinite verandas suck. Also, the a/c turns off when you open the WINDOW. It's a WINDOW, not a balcony!
@CruiseMonkeys Жыл бұрын
Good point, the dividing doors don’t offer a blackout feature.
