If there is one thing I will say about Pippa, it's that she is the most outrageous troll I have ever encountered in the VTubing space, and that's coming from a holostars fan who enjoyed the streams of Vesper Noir and the Maglord. (I still miss them; I do follow their PLs but I miss when they worked for holostars.) The thing with Pippa is that the trolling warps back around, crashing headlong back into the line it crossed, causing it all to become deliciously, gutbustingly hilarious and entertaining to savor.

One thing I'll always remember was when Airi infamously trolled her by spamming Pippa the Ripper during a game of Mahjong Soul. Even though she ended up rage quitting and kicked Airi from the game, Pippa still felt her chat had a nice introduction to Airi (who lost her voice at the time and was using TTS) and raided her chat into Airi's upcoming stream so they could support her, knowing there were other Phase talents who were live at the time and could have raided them instead.

Honestly, Phase Connect has been an absolute breath of fresh air. Sure, they're unhinged as fuck, but that's sorta what I love about them 😊 I do hope that they're sincerely okay behind the scenes, I feel like they hardly slow down. Tenma recently cried on stream from finishing an amazing, emotional game and taking it slow. Parasocial as it might be, those moments hit deep when you're used to them yelling and cussing nonstop.

But what I really don't understand is the hypocrisy of the fans, in Nijisanji, people complain and don't tolerate what the livers say, The thing is that they talk about sensitive and controversial topics, but in Phase Connect they do tolerate this type of sensitive and controversial topics, If Sakana were smart, he would be able to suspend or fire them, or change some contract regulations, What is certain is that they are a bad influence on the vtuber community.

You missed the Ethan Ralph arc which was the first big boost in viewership she got. She went from being a a130 CCV to about 300. Also something interesting about Pippa is that atleast Cali and Fauna have mentioned knowing about her. Despite being so "controversial" a good chunk of corpo girls know, follow (or in some cases, despise her). What makes Pippa so strong as a content creator is her community which will stand by her against any attempts of cancellation. People join her due to her being controversial unlike other Vtubers that just get random subs and once they do something controversial, the fans turn on them.

Pipkin is unapologetically intense and abrasive. For me, she's not necessarily relatable, but more so ironically nostalgic to me for her conspiracy theories' antics. She's wildly dark and edgy. Most importantly, behind it all, she has a fundamental kindness to her which might possibly be obfuscated at first glance. In other words, she's what this generation would call "based". She's an entertaining cartoon country yabbit that speaks her mind and occasionally cringes at herself. Her element is mold. Just my impression of her from watching mostly clips. Pippa is a godsend to vtubers tbh. Especially on twitch. Her influence in the scene is basically everywhere and just her being there makes it harder to bully other vtubers that dont deserve it because she will get involved before it gets too bad. It's hard to put into word what she means to me and not sound parasocial, but let's say that watching her grow and better herself over time has been an inspiration. She's no traditional role model, but she's proof that flawed people can find happiness and live a fullfilling life, even if the menhera tendencies are strong. The only thing I would've expanded a bit more in the video was her interactions with Ralph and Mister Mekotur. I know it's a bit off topic from Vtubing, but those were experiences that changed her (specially the one with Jim).

I've only recently discovered Pippa, and while "schizo rabbit yells 'based statements' loudly"-style clips attracted my attention initially, i wouldn't have stayed if this was all she was. Pippa, behind the unhinged rants and twitter controversies, comes off to me like a genuinely kind person, deeply caring for people and things she attaches to, who's extremely vulnerable and isn't afraid to show that vulnerability to her viewers. Sure, every streamer plays a character on stream to an extent, but with Pippa, again, in my view, the border between character and real person is almost non-existent. Her thought process is fascinating to watch, and the struggles she talks about are quite relatable for my introverted ass, often reminding me either of things i've overcame before, or things i'm struggling with to this day. Call it parasocial if you want, but it genuinely warms my heart to see the progress this silly rabbit has accomplished in the last couple of years, her self-improvement arc is amazing to behold and i hope she continues on with it. A non-exhaustive list of reasons: -To appear busy to customers. Modern Western and adjacent culture, especially in corporate business, is hostile to idleness. Non-busy employees are interpreted by employers and much of the public as indicative of a lazy employee or a business performing badly. -Demoralization. Wal-Mart deliberately creates an environment that pushes for a high turn-over rate to prevent organization and by extension collective action, as well as to keep employee negotiating power and consequently wages and benefits minimized.

The Vaush stuff is even worse since there is evidence of him saying it several times in several different streams and videos saying owning real cp, not anime or fictional stuff that he is hating with characters like Gura or Matsuri (who was in his folder), should not be criminal. I repeat he stated on camera even in debates/calls with others that the possession of real cp should not be criminal. I have no clue how this man cobbled together a fanbase nor how he somehow was able to bash anime fans when he said that for all these years.
@gatling2167 ай бұрын
It's something you see from a lot of political personalities, from both sides. They can say some pretty horrendous shit, but most of their fanbase will sort of tune it out because they largely agree with the other stuff they say. Ironically, people like Vaush for a lot of the same reasons Pippa's fans like her. He "tells it like it is" and isn't afraid to get controversial. The whole horse thing alone would sink a more mainstream personality, but because he's cultivated an air of controversy, he's basically impossible to cancel. He'll lose some fans and folks in the community will be skittish about working with him, but in a year, no one will remember. Is it absolutely insane? Yeah, no doubt. You have to be deep in the rabbit hole to hear something like that and brush it off as a hot take. Note: I'm not saying Pippa's degeneracy is anything like Vaush's. I don't really know anything about her, aside from the occasional clip and this video, and I only clicked on the video because writer's block at 1 in the morning is a pain in the rear. All I'm saying is there are parallels with the fanbases and Pippa's resistance to being cancelled for things that sank other vtubers.

The early internet days were pretty wild, but definitely not something modern users would like. That said, it's been two decades and we absolutely were okay with worse behaviors back then because most believed it wasn't meant to be taken seriously (except when it was). When online discourse used to be in thousands of separate communities in various forums it was easier to discern the ironic in-jokes from serious hate, now everyone's on the same five websites so that doesn't work. Pippa herself may not be malicious but constant edgy shitposting tends to attract viewers who haven't grown as people since 2008, or were born in 2008 and think edgy is automatically funny. Once someone has a large enough fanbase, any nuance of ironic humor gets lost in the sea of people who take it 100% seriously and like it.

Pippa embodies the raw spirit of the older, pre-normie infestation days of the internet. If anyone else here remembers the old meme "INTERNET: SERIOUS BUSINESS", you'll know what I'm talking about. Online was a place for unrestrained fun and tomfoolery of all sorts. Feelings weren't taken into consideration, because it was understood that you hang your feelings on the coat rack when going online. As others have already said, Pippa and Phase Connect are needed in the vtuber sphere, both as a containment area and a release valve for when people wanna act a little crazy. If their existence was unilaterally disallowed, you would see the culture they cultivate surface in other agencies, places where it is explicitly disallowed, which in the end would hurt everyone.
