As a German in Catholic dominated Bavaria (Munich), Ben got it pretty much right. Conservatives here have no problem with national health care paying for abortion, tough gun laws, a drinking age of 16 for beer and wine, topless beaches and public parks , essentially free universities for the ONE QUARTER of high school graduates who qualify for it at all (versus trade schools). We are for lower corporate taxes and want immigration to favor the educated.The rates of mass and school shooting and unwanted teenage pregnancies are at a tiny percentage of the U.S. rates, despite some immigration problem areas (Berlin).

Ben's "historical" case against the New Testament is incredibly weak. He can't just hide behind his Judaism in dismissing the historicity of ancient biographies, at least 2 of which were written by Jews. There are plenty of Jewish New Testament scholars out there who give the New Testament books varying degrees of historical reliability. His personal beliefs need to be influenced by the facts, so he needs to do the dirty work and actually look into the arguments, which he shows very little familiarity with. He said that Jesus entering into Jerusalem with the crowd waving palms is anachronistic because it was Passover. What? That was days before the Passover Feast! With regards to his comments on the trial of Jesus, this simply assumes the Jews were following their own laws! They broke their own laws regularly. Even Josephus notes that. The trial, IF it was even intended to be an official capital trial, was a very strange event, and one that was deemed as "shady", so that doesn't really count against the New Testament accounts.
@followthesun21155 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. It was disappointing to see "facts don't care about your feelings" Ben allow his prejudice against the New Testament to cause him to play fast and loose with the facts.

I like how Knowles will openly and unregretfully make fun of vegetarians/vegans as a whole when PETA act like morons, notice that his veg/vegan fans are calling him out, and still stand with his opinions. Meanwhile, Shapiro supports vegetarianism openly, and here, he already thinks up his apology to vegetarians before he finishes saying the term "soy boy". As a vegan, I certainly like that Shapiro is doing this, but more than that, I LOVE that The Daily Wire is not monochromatic in their opinions and they don't give a flip if they disagree internally. If Knowles becomes more tolerant of veg/vegans in the future, cool. If both Knowles and Shapiro maintain their stances and don't worry about coming to a shared view, also cool. If Shapiro becomes far less accepting of vegetarianism, mehhh... but I'll adapt to it. That said, fingers crossed that Shapiro goes vegetarian. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't come across any conservative vegetarians out there. And I think Ben would make a nice representative.
@risafey5 жыл бұрын
Yes, true. I like that Shapiro meant "soy boy" in how they *act*, because the science actually shows vegan men who eat soy have more healthier testosterone and are far less likely to get prostate cancer or suffer other maladies down there. I bet if Shapiro talked to Dr. Michael Greger for 10 minutes, he'd be sold on veganism (or rather, whole food plant-based nutrition) based purely on science and facts.
@323azteca5 жыл бұрын
I'm a conservative, hard core, and vegetarian. Tried veganism but was too weak after two months of it. My reasoning is health. HEALTH. Its simple. For EVERY single illness, disease, condition, ANYTHING, doctors will always say "eat more fruits and vegetables". And I can say firathand that I no longer have everyday allergy or asthma since changing to vegetarian lifestyle. I don't think vegetarianism contradicts conservatism. I believe in liberty, freedom of speech, small government, freedom for all to eat what they want (unless its human). I believe in stable marriage between a man and a woman. I believe in influencing, convincing not forcing.

The fundamentals of understanding the universe has been laid out by a grounded possibility beneath it. Which is that we cant really grasp the creation but we can understand the way of the creator who acts in it. Its pretty much like, you have certain qualities and then you work with it to deal with human predicaments and then you realise since the vice versa isn't possible, then this is the only thing that can work. Like, we can clearly recognise certain things and these things indicate and lay out a foundation to explore something else as the possibility of it existing there becomes 100% by reasoning itself. There isn't much faith in it as much as effort is. Its really just realising our own nature and how universe works in a way that every life can exist without suffering just like other species. But then we are conscious so to make that happen, we would have to go to non physical aspects but its underlying truths remain. Personal ambitions bring indirect conflicts to human civilization than direct ones. The collective interests of the mass is always in deviation. If one thing gets done, something else pops up
@77Avadon775 жыл бұрын
Okay that's complete nonsense. You can't fathom the universe but you can fathom the being who created it? Yeah right. If there is a God or being that created the universe or universes the likelihood that you know anything about it is astronomical
@77Avadon775 жыл бұрын
Okay you don't understand what the word suffrage means LOL
@krishnamsdhoni5 жыл бұрын
Its because the being that created it is not restriced to anything meanwhile the creation and the intellect which tries to fanthom it are restricted to its limitation. Since the innate consciousness is like the tiny bit saltiness, its quality is the same as the salt lying in ocean. Universe cannot be fanthomised in anyway since the source of it is not limited to physicality but the source can be realised if we know the essence of its ways. Whatever thats existing is same in quality but differing in quantity and since its ways are omni present, then this is more sensible than figuring out the world
@krishnamsdhoni5 жыл бұрын
77Avadon77 the whole point is knowing the creator through creation. Its a question of either we sail on the boat or if we try and take the ocean using the boat. Only one works. Its not very reasonable to say something as sense or nonsense since thats also subjected to a limitation of reason. Why not just say basis of the foundation. Because none of what has been understood by the people about creation has been seen to work in reality other than appearence of it. So no, we do not and cannot know the universe physically at its entirely. Thats a typo. Both the creators existence and his ways are very graspable. Its only the creation thats not because the means we are imploying to know the unlimited would be too small. If somebody makes a mistake in using terms, just correct the part. No need to personally attack or insult. I think that the idea of creator is extremely different from abrahmic religion to sanatana which is brahmic
@krishnamsdhoni5 жыл бұрын

@@323azteca I don't think you have to follow a God to share some of the same values as Christians.
@323azteca5 жыл бұрын
Oh, my friend, I agree. Many many good people who do good things as God intended based on the Bible do NOT believe in a God. Goodness is not exclusive to Christians. In fact, many Christians themselves do NOT follow the Christian values in the Bible. Goodness is in our God-intended nature, whether we believe in Him or not. I absolutely believe you can have good values, or decide Christian values are good, and decide not to believe a Superior Being defined them. I was actually NOT mocking you nor the fact you feel you are an atheist nor that you follow Christian values. It was not my intention. What I found interesting is that you recognize them as Christian values. Most people I know that claim to be atheist but good people and that they don't need a God to be good, do NOT recognize good values as Christian values. They understand those values are universal. Of course, all of them, if not all, have never truly read the Bible. They just repeat what others say is in the Book as long as it makes sense to them. The fact that you do is strange (interesting) to me because that means you are recognizing them as in the Bible. You know what I mean? So, all over the Bible, it is God giving those values. Promoting those values, recognizing how lost and rotten we are, loving us despite of it and demonstrating those values in Him. So, I'm just interested in how you recognize all of that, like it and accept it, but decide to strip away the God part of it all. It makes more sense to me that an atheist understand those values are universal. Of course, I disagree. I'm aware God gave us a heart like His. So in our natural form, we want the same goodness He does. But when corrupted with the world, we act or desire differently. Until we seek Him again and his goodness.
