In this video all references to "Observe" should be "Obverse". I know this edit in the description will fall short or go unread, but oh well... It's free video on the internet! Have some fun people!
----
Our one dollar bill is boring. It has not been changed since the 1960s even while every other bill got an update. Why can't we have cool money? Well, as it turns out, we used to have one of the coolest dollar bills ever created.
In 1896, the US Treasury issued a series of bills called "The Education Series" and they just might be the coolest currency ever made.

JUST AN FYI! At some point in the script I replaced the word "Obverse" with "Observe" and did not realize it. Thanks for pointing it out, hopefully you can see past a v to s swap and enjoy what is a quite remarkable dollar bill!

Justin, what a really great and informative video. Incredibly well done, learned something new. The only thing I can’t understand is why I’m only the 22nd comment. Keep this quality up, you’ll hit 100,000 subscribers eventually. Really, really great. You’ve got a new fan.

Thanks so much! I loved this video! I was super embarrassed that I mixed up the words observe and obverse, but the video was still such a unique one I wanted to let it stand even with the error! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!

Great video!! Don't worry about the obverse/reverse thing - I really loved it! Now if the US could just catch up and introduce polymer notes..

The Educational Series of bills from 1896 were amazing. The $2 and $5 bills are just as brilliant and beautiful. What's also amazing is that these bills are huge - 3 1/8 inch by 7 3/8 inch (compared to 2 5/8 x 6 1/8 today.)

@@JustinLearnsThings truly sad part is that the tinting of US currency paper ($1 white, $5 pink, $10 yellow, $20 green, $50 blue) matches monopoly money. Truly a statement.
