How awesome is this banjo!! It sounds great, it looks great, it feels great- I'm so happy with it! Go check out Jesse's website and instagram to see more of his work! His website is jesseheadnaturalluthiership.com/ and his instagram is / head_jesse . And let me know what you think I should name this banjo!
The songs I played here were Wildflowers by Dolly Parton and Salt Spring, and I'm in standard G tuning.

Suggestion for the name: "Bumpkin" Because it's a Banjo, a pumpkin and a chicKin. Or maybe 'Berl' as in 'Berlin' because it has a "wall" nut top.

What a beautiful mellow sound that banjo has! Often I find banjo a bit 'twangy', but that one is smooth as silk. Love it. And I haven't even watched the whole video yet. 😎 Edit: Ok, so it needs a name beginning with b.. hmmm.. How about 'Blitzen'? As in Santa's reindeer. Because a) you got it as a present and b) it has an antler. My work here is done... 🤣

Hey, I just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed. It was kinda serendipitous since I just started getting into banjo, recently. I, honestly, just clicked on your video because of how photogenic you are but was then surprised by how genuinely cool your content is. That gord banjo is so well crafted that it's a playable work of art. And I really like the others you have in the background. I'm going to have to go back through your videos as I'm still in that early learning stage as far as banjos go. I started learning guitar 5 years ago, when I was 20, and enjoy fingerpicking so I'm interested to see if having those skills will make it easier for me to pick up banjo.

A wooden inlay doesn't change anything with the sound of the instrument. But it demonstrates the love and dedication of the luthier which will definitely also have an effect on the sound. I am really impressed how much time my luthier spent on the inlays of the instruments he built for me. So, looking at such a beautiful looking and sounding instrument in this video it comes back to my mind.

I am new to your channel and the reason I say that is, I know absolutely nothing about banjos other than out of all the instruments. The banjo is my all time favorite. I'm 60 and when I was knee high to a grasshopper. I would sit and listen to my granddad play and my other granddad play the accordion. When they got together it was so much fun. But when I got much much older I happen to see that banjo at my mom and dad's. That's when my dad told me the history of that banjo. It was my granddads, grandfather's and he played it while at war during the Civil War. The memories just amplified for myself. Sorry long winded comment. What I just meant to come and say. That gore banjo has a amazing sound. Really enjoyed this video.

Sensitive, creative people can feel the little details in things and that's ok and I for one welcome such remarks in these videos if that's what comes to heart. As the other commenter alluded to, nothing need be changed, any little details that are important to them will be ironed out with time, naturally.
