if armoured people may realise you store main loot in there, if not armoured and core is empty, they may realise you store loot in there. proceed with caution, i normally only leave loot to rebuild, like tommy hazzy kits, and tools.

Hqm front foundation and wall, honey comb back and sides, place 5 triangle roofs on top, use armored window instead of door and place tc in triangle hatch frame, you got yourself a minimum 16 rocket raid external at low cost.

Crow you prolly my fav builder, somehow I find myself building mostly your bases, viper and others, now I learn the tsunami for the boys, I want to add something about the bunkers, we like the industrial update and you cannot use it with the external but what I did is lower the collapsible wall so there will be a gap between it and the roof and that way u can pipe out of there as well :)

Just went to use these again and ran into an issue I hadn't had before. You can place these correctly to get the bunker function to work, but sometimes it's off just enough so that you 1. Can't place the square foundation in front of the bunker triangle or 2. You can't place the roof off of that square. In both cases it means that your gap on the side is too large. Make sure to verify before your timer runs out to destroy!

Still works on console. Make sure the disconnect works before upgrading the freehand from twig. The compound needs to be built a bit from twig for the connection to not keep breaking. I got raided while building this and it worked. Just realised too late the disconnect doesnt work. Luckily it was just wood. Getting the placement to 79% is easy but if its too low or too high the disconnect roof wont be able to be placed. So the disconnect roof is very important check it works and redo the 79% placement until it works. Also when placing TC place it far from the door. I got stuck in the middle after opening the bunker.....lol. Crafted a wooden chest as support to jump out.

Hi. This bunker TC has many weakness in the gatehouse. If you break any foundation or exterior window TC was disconnected. Not only doorframe need upgrate to metal

I don't understand how the TC is able to be placed in the bunker when it is in proximity of the main base's TC. 1 square and 6 triangles is too close to the original TC when I try this.

How can you be more successful with placing the freehand? Tried it 100 times and got it right only once. Edit: I figured it out now. The conditional metal model on the other side is covering the second imortant point. You need to place the twig foundation slightly away from the opposite foundation and you cant see that in the video

@@CrowRust I found using the compass helped me a lot to get the positioning right. Four degrees off plumb was perfect for a minimal but sufficient gap. I also found lowering the foundation is critical as otherwise the foundation hit boxes collide before the angled foundation is close enough for it to work. I guess we all have our own methods. As always… practice makes perfect.

I build it a little differently, i first put a window frame over tc with triangle frame also, then i go outside and add honey comb, then add pancake layer to the top, that way it's minimum 10 rockets max 27 i think? Just you can't seal the triangle roof over the bunker part so just place half walls then upgrade the roof to the same material as bunker

@@CrowRust Yes there is. Just stopped a raider from grubbing loot bag after they broke the tc. Frame kept them from reaching it down on the floor. There wasn't enough room for a bag either so they could not spawn in. They tried standing on a box to reach and still couldn't. Triangle or square frames do something at least.

if they destroy the triangle for the offset wall, how can you replace it? I could see that pretty much bricking your external if they want to grief you from getting back into your external. also something i noticed... either at 79 or 78... if someone destroys the offset wall you cant place it again with the triangle frame above it... my solution is to change the angle and dont have the offset wall under the triangle frame... you can use a triangle roof instead to cover the gap and it works

It isn't built correctly. You can build this with all the correct stabilities and everything and it not actually be connected (the closest triangle corner is off just a touch) . Always verify your upkeep as soon as you place the wall. If it's 4 wood, that's just the twig from the guiding triangles on the side. If you have those, the square foundation, the wall, and the unseal roof, they upkeep should be 19. That's when you go and replace the square with a triangle and upgrade it.

also freehands might be harder for newer players even if they practice them there's still a chance they mess up which will take more time. offsets are better in my opinion cause you do the same buildout every time, but both work i just like offsets more

Copied the build precisely. Tried repeating it 5 times to practice it so that i get faster on live servers, but that freehand square is too finicky and a major headache to get the correct stability on the wall consistently. Majority of the time I get 87% stability and have to redo it. Overall it's a great build when you can place it, but doing so is problematic most of the time.

Oh wow I managed to do it. This is quite finnicky. Initially I had a larger gap at the top, but upon tightening that up a little bit the bunker started working as expected.

Should be ok as long as the wall stays there when you swap the square foundation for a triangle one. In my experience, I only get 70, 79 or 87%. Nothing inbetween.

this is a great external, ive built it hundereds of times, just be aware that DISCONNECT MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK and you will have to manually destroy your externals in case you lose the main one
