I was a boy in the 60s when CCR came out, and while I already loved the Beatles and dozens of other bands, Creedence just hooked me like no other. To this day, more than 50 years later, I still get goosebumps when I hear songs like Born on the Bayou.

Fogherty did this with many of his songs including "Proud Mary," which has all the same chords as this song, and then some. I guess it's a more comfortable tone for him to sing in

You learn the CAGED system yet? That's the one that opened my door. I realized the chords connect with one another, so I took that same energy to my mandolin and banjo, and they were also similar.

I just love that we're the same age. From the Milkman shirt I wore all the way through 8th and 9th grade. To the movies we grew up on. Man him transorming was so gnarly. Didnt MJ use Landis for Thriller because of exactly that? I saw Thriller play the first time it aired on MTV. They played the whole thing at Midnight. My family and our close friends family all stayed up to watch it together. So cool. Plus Blues Brothers was my favorite movie then. AND STILL IS! LOL

I tune most of my guitars down = ½ step, 1 step, 1½ steps, 2 steps, all of the guitars I use for my own music are also at A = 432hz instead of A440. I do so for a number of reasons: a deeper heavier tone/timbre, especially with thicker strings to maintain string tension, make it easier on my fingers, to change the keys of songs in E, A, D major/minor/modes, and to give songs a different mood/feeling/depth... You have a good voice.
