Redemptive history recounts the many failed attempts at temple reconstruction until the coming of the Second Adam, Jesus Christ, who is presently building God's temple by his Spirit and word and will bring it to consummation in the new heavens and new earth.

Not all sacrifices are for sin, some are too the glory of God. Where did Cain and Abel learn about sacrifice if not from their parents?
