The Cossack Rode Beyond the Danube - one of the most famous Ukrainian folk songs. Composition describes the campaigns of the cossacks against the Ottoman Empire in 18th century, how cossack is going to fight against turks beyond the Danube and the moment of saying goodbye to his girl.

*Russian song. Russian army fought against Ottomans, not 'ukraine': no 'ukraine' existed till 1991, certainly not in 18th century, it was called Malorussia back then. And Cossacks had nothing to do with polonized Galicians from Lwow, core of 'ukrainian nation' (created by Austrians/Germans)

What about the Cossacks in Zaporozhia who spoke Ukrainian in the 18th Century? Lol.And what about the Kingdom of Galicia and Volhynia? Ukrainians who lived in the region of Ukraine have spoken Ukrainian for hundreds if not a thousand years now. Except it was called Ruthenian before and foreign influence turned it into Ukrainian
