Because Jerry drafted him. It’s a big deal to Jerry. All the players he drafts, he campaigns as HOF players. “Look at me. Look who I drafted. I’m the best drafter ever.” This is why he was so hesitant to let Zeke go, which was basically an admission that he chose poorly and then extended him to an incredibly stupid contract. He doesn’t wanna make the same admission. It’s all about Jerry’s ego. That’s why league experts consider him the worst GM in the league. Extending Dak the first time was a huge mistake!!! Dak's not an elite NFL QB that elevates the team. He's a mediocre QB, who's been carried by a great supporting cast.
