I had picked up the Poor Baby 45 as a cutout at Woolworths when I was a kid (A cutout was an unsold record that usually had a hole drilled in the label area and then sold at a deep discount.) I liked the song, but as much as I have seen the Cowsills wondered why I never heard it played. Now I know the rest of the story. I still have the 45 this performance was a treat.

The harmonies on poor baby are exquisite.

The Cowsills Rock! The! House! DOWN!!! Fan since TRTPOT hit the airwaves on my little transistor radio!! I wish I could change the past & have my Daddy find work around Newport instead of Chicago! Then I could possibly have been a fan from the REAL beginning!! IDK though. I'm John's age, & at that time, I wouldn't have been allowed inside to hear Y'all!! Thank you to the OP for sharing these videos! You have made my year! I just found these 3 posts & am definitely saving them for re-watching!! (Edit: I found 3 more!) Susan, you've grown into a beautiful woman. You've always been a greatly talented young lady. I used to be jealous of you!! You had all these fantastic big brothers, & I was an only! Bob, IDK how you were able to pick up the pieces & take responsibility for Bill's parts just like that, but you did, & did it marvelously! That showed the world just how talented you were at such a relatively young age! And you've gotten only better since! All Y'all have! Paul, I know, I'm trying to say something different for each of you, but you're all so danged good! It's hard to not simply repeat myself! You know, I always thought the original four were perfect, & they were, but you only made them "perfect-er"! Each of Y'all had your own sound, which went together seamlessly, & when yours was added to theirs, the sound was complete, & as Tony used to say: They're (Y'all're) GRRRREAT! I'm so glad Y'all are still working together, & I understand why John isn't usually with Y'all, but it would be nice if it had worked out that he could have done so. Thank Y'all for including Bill & Barry. They'll never be forgotten, but it's still nice. Richard will be remembered, too, of course. Just because he wasn't part of the band diminishes him in no way, b/c he helped make up the family. In my book, Family Rules! Thanks to some "baggage" making Family extra important to me. OBTW, Paul, TMI, Dude! But since YOU brought it up...I don't use Depends. 😉 I use Medicare sponsored ones. I call them UnDependables! 😂🤣 Yes, I'm truly a "woman of a certain age"! 😁 Love you all! You have my heart & my wishes for continued Health & Happiness!
