Hi Andrew, thanks for watching. Thanks for the kind feedback; unfortunately KZbin is saturated with people like myself, therefore it's very competitive, and for some, difficult to find growth.

@@CarObsession hopefully people can see this content for the effort and quality you out in mate. Im not in the market for a new car but I find these videos great to watch. Hopefully sometime soon someone may give you a shout-out or people come flooding in. Love both the new cars videos and old modified ones. Do both I would say as it appeals to different groups. Keep up the work mate it will pay off

I have had an AWD on test. Over several hundred miles of very mixed driving I averaged 43mpg. No other auto, 4wd diesel SUV of this size is going to do much better in real life. I also found the delay for full power not as bad as in say, an Outlander PHEV which can keep you waiting for a life time but you do need to plan a bit more ahead. I did a few 0 to 60 runs and clocked 7.9s (Japanese manufacturers of often 'conservative' in their numbers) Really excellent ride comfort, chucked it about a bit and its handles fine, lot of grip, the initial 'float' on the top of the suspension that gives good comfort soon firms up under pressure and it handles pretty well on the underlying firmer suspension. Niggles, the door armrests have woeful elbow padding. There is perhaps too much room in the back, It could have less rear legroom and more boot, sliding seat option would help. The keyless entry was a bit temperamental for me. Once figured out (read the manual? never!) the standard driving aids were superb, best on any car I have seen. Lane keeping with adaptive cruise made some motorway trips minimal effort. Some say hybrids are not suited for longer distance but at a steady 70 the drive train is very hushed and with the driver aids and ride this is a serious mile killer, still kept the right side of 40mpg. People should know its not rated for towing larger loads, a result of no gearbox so its pullaway torque is limited to what the electric motor can muster. Swings and roundabouts, you gain the smoothness of no gearchanges but lose tow capacity. Its actually very good value considering much of the stuff you get as standard, how much does adding LED headlights cost on many German models, or the driver aids? often its a £2000+ extra package, standard on the CR-V. Final niggle, the reversing camera is not very good resolution and only pops up in a small window on screen, quite hard to 'trust'.

4WD is substantially heavier as he said and as a result is less deflected by bumps but also slower and less responsive.

Another great review! I saw this car recently and was very impressed by it. I am over six feet tall and had ACRES of head and leg room. Probably going to be our family car. However, still thinking about petrol versus hybrid. I do a lot of motorway miles a week. I reckon a hybrid is more useful for slower in town driving. What do you think? If it was your money, petrol or hybrid?

@@CarObsession The 166 mpg for the PHEV is rather misleading - a friend has one, and complains that it's great for journeys up to 30 miles but not after that, when the petrol engine comes in and petrol consumption is mid 30's.

Hi Ryan, thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback. I'm inclined to disagree with you on that one, as similar cars weigh a fair bit less. Granted, some of them don't have the extra weight of batteries for a hybrid system, but even the standard CR-V isn't a light car in its class.

@@CarObsession quashqai and 3008 are from segment below and do not have the same amount of space and the ateca is from the vw recycled parts bin. I like the quashqai my wife has one! But the build and reliability are not to the standard of the Honda. @@ryanwilkins7080 Hi Ryan, they're in the same class my friend (in regard to the 5 seater) - cars like the Juke and the 2008 would be in the class below. Granted, the CR-V offers more space than its rivals, but they are in the same class. I'll have to agree to disagree on the Ateca looks as I think it's a great looking car, although looks will always be subjective.

@@Joop175 Thanks for the feedback. So, the 2.0 litre engine powers a generator motor, which in turn powers the electric motor that provides the drive to the wheels. The system is able to use excess power from the engine to charge the batteries, if needed.
