Having a good pen and even decent delivery isn't enough for that industry level. The most important factor in that space is having a marketable image that pushes record sales and sells out venues. It's all a business hence an actor like Drake who's stayed outright jacking other people's work, their songs, and plagiarizing old bars and deliveries from older artists' songs when he's not simply using his committee to write and put together his records. He's been anointed by the industry powers that be to sell sanitized hip-hop to the masses.
