I've always thought it would be super beneficial to find some strong coin sized magnets, glue one to the underside of the tails of the helmet and find a way to fix another to the appropriate spot inside the speed suit (possibly a small pocket sewn inside or use a suit that has a radio pocket built in). The magnet wouldn't be so strong that you're fixed in position but it would be a super easy way to located the correct position repeatably every time and help encourage the correct position under fatigued states to ward the end of a tt. What do you think?

The helmet was made for the 2012 olympics, but not for the track nor the Danish squad. It was made in collaboration with and for the swedish cyclist Gustav Larsson (who won the 2008 olympic ITT silver medal). However it was also used by the rest of the swedish team during the olympics, but only on the road because Sweden did not have anyone participating in the track events.

I thought the point of the vents was to create an exhaust that smooths out the airflow over the back?
@ronykuba4 жыл бұрын
Nope. There's no exhaust at the back.
@adamtaylor39873 жыл бұрын
It comes out of the vents on the sides to speed up the airflow over the deltoids. The bottom half of the vents cools the head which may exhaust under the tail, hence the insert that is blanked off, in case it’s a cold day. Which may suggest having it slightly off your back? Not sure.

Hi ! Really love your videos… I have a practical question- I wonder if you can lower the ratchet closer system lower? Did you do it? I am afraid to harm it when pulling it out. Also - What combo of liners did you use ? Seems like the extra liner + the thin one. Thanks!

The POC looks to cover the gap between your neck and back much better even when you are not adjusting the helmet as in the video. It also looks like the sides would give a better transition of the air to your shoulders and back in general. It really fills in those nasty gaps quite well. I do wonder though if you would be better off raising the front end slightly to bring your shoulders higher up around your head if it doesn't also lower your back relative to the helmet tail even if it is no problem comfort wise to maintain position currently. Perhaps a couple of watts extra in power with this too and some extra benefit on rolling terrain.

How do they compare though in terms of visibility I wonder?

The vents are only there to serve as an exhaust if there is one at the end. If there isn’t, it’s only for ventilation. There’s NO way the air would split at the front due to the high pressure under 150 km/h
@ronykuba4 жыл бұрын
Firstly that's wrong, secondly the exit points are on the sides.
@noahfontaine78324 жыл бұрын
@@ronykuba So then it serves as an exhaust so smoothen the airflow on the sides. Creating vents without exhausts automatically make them slower as the cd increases. Furthermore it is impossible for smooth airflow to split at cycling speeds with that shape. There is absolutely no way you can reach that high of a pressure at even 90 km/h with this type of airfoil.
