My personal favorite rule 1 I experienced was in a 1's game. We sat in a rule 1 while tied for about 2 minutes, only for the ball to roll slowly into my net with a minute left. I managed to score 2 goals in that minute and win, thanks rl gods.

I have a clip where I try to get the boost over the opponent while in rule 1, and it's great because it leads to a pass and we score lol. Great examples in this video! I especially love the clips where teamates steal the rule 1 by bumping their teamates, this is priceless to me haha

I can't find the clip, but once it actually happened to me, that I was in a rule 1 with someone on the wall, he flipped off to the side JUST when my tm8 passed it forward, making the rulebreaker redirect into his own net. It was crazy

In 2v2 I've seen rule ones actually not be held. It's more of a thing where you hope that your teammate gets the space he needs to bonk u guys free. I've been in a rule one for 4 minutes with a 1 to 1 score board and it can get a little boring.

I refuse to rule 1. Always respected it then I was in a 1s ranked match. Tied 2-2. We ended up in a rule 1. The ball rolled helplessly towards his net. He broke the rule 1 and saved it. He proceeded to win 3-2. I will NEVER respect a Rule 1 again.

Same team rule 1s is a variation that some follow (there's a few clips of them in this video). Traditionally though, true Rule 1s are with opponents only as they are intended to allow the match to continue with even teams.

That's a whole other discussion. For the first year or so of RL Rule 1 *was* keeping the ball up at 0 seconds. According the Devs, early pros like Kronovi, and most of the community. Things change though.
