Interesting fact about the PPG episode, originally the gnome was going to be voiced by Jack Black but wasn’t brought in supposedly due to the cost of bringing him in given that he’s a huge star. Instead, Jess Harnell took over the voice and surprisingly he does a very convincing voice sounding like Jack Black.

The chest issue from Braceface is so important to teach kids (and adults). Small does not equal child, and big absolutely does not equal adult. I had a friend that was an E-cup at thirteen. The attention she got was beyond gross. Old men trying to buy her alcohol in restaurants/pubs 🤢

If they ever put the Censored Eleven on Max, they should be age-restricted like what Disney did with some of their old movies. I don't think kids should watch these or they might grasp some...really harmful ideas, and they would only really have value to animation buffs. Alternatively, they could be preserved for educational purposes, like being shown in a history class to teach about what racism and propaganda was like back in the day.

It's a shame. I was blessed with a Mum that would explain and let me ask questions about material like this, but not all parents care so much about educating their kids on the sins of the past. Yeah and also back then, the NAACP had a problem with those cartoons as well and wrote to Warner Bros about it. I also do agree with the idea of restoring those cartoons (they probably already have) and putting them on Max but under a restricted rating, separate from the rest of the library or something along with optional commentary from animation historians. Anyway, another banger of a video on the channel man. Well done.

Dude seeing this video made me so glad that I had subscribed to your channel! This video is one of my favorites of yours that I've seen to date now. It's so important not to erase history no matter what the format is because then we also don't learn from it. The banned cartoons can serve as history lessons and make us realize how far we've come in society. Obviously someone was a fan of Cypress Hill behind that TMNT episode and I loved the whole idea of that one. I would love to see that banned episode of the Power Puff Girls! I mean it had a good message with how following any cult is probably a bad idea. I love how its about valuing individuality that proved how the creators back then made cartoons that transcended on a deeper level.

The character from the Golden Age of Cartoons I'm most miffed being practically forgotten about is Ms. 2 Shoes from Tom and Jerry. Warts and All she is insanely important to the cat and mouse duo's history since she's as old as they are as she made her debut at the same time they did. Plus she's practically the only human character I really ever gave a toss about as she was the only one who had an actual personality and could actually go toe to toe "Or rather claw to claw" with Tom and Jerry.
@PlayStonkers
@PlayStonkers 3 ай бұрын
Mammy Two-Shoes is one of the funniest cartoon characters of all time because she's just a hilariously sassy woman who's had enough of that cat and mouse's mess. I've always said that the quality of a Tom & Jerry cartoon is inversely proportional to the amount of spoken dialogue in it. The more any character speaks, the worse a cartoon it is... UNLESS MAMMY IS IN IT. Also, as a kid and to this day, I operated under the assumption that she was the owner of the house. Woman's doin' alright for herself. Who's got a problem with that?

While even I am amazed that they almost got "Insane in the Membrane" to air, they basically showed Baxter getting literally stripped of his humanity multiple times. The rotting flesh was a little over the top, but overall we missed one of the most powerful episodes of the 2k3 series. Proof that Stockman was the show's REAL arc villain, not Shredder. There was also "Nightmares Recycled" where the Garbage Man was revealed to be the conjoined twin of Hun, tossed aside similar to The Penguin in Batman Returns. That one made it barely to animatic, maybe even some lines recorded before the new censor told them to throw it out completely. And the thing is, 4kids was going to show what was finished of the episode on their website, but the sale of Mirage Studios to Viacom happened JUST before they were able to. Personally, I think those two episodes were the reason Fast Forward was far more juvenile and lighter than the rest of the series. Well, until the unproduced second season, but that's another story.

@@isaiahedmonson5832 Fast Forward really showed how much pull Playmates had over the franchise. So much so that it made 4Kids completely skip an ENTIRE completed season just to rush new TMNT variants to market. We didn't get the fifth season that concluded the story until after the FF toys didn't sell. The show even referenced events and characters in a couple episodes that didn't even air yet as a result. Worst part, the FF toys didn't sell any better, so they abandoned a far better second season. A Triceriton that took THe Shredder mantle would have been an upcoming villain, as well as Space Usagi making an appearance. That's why Back to the Sewers felt rushed.

The show could have ended nicely on season 5, but like I said, they skipped over it to sell yet another Turtles variants that no one bought. Shame. "Put them in their own category, separate but equal" got an unexpected laugh out of me! Also, I'm surprised the "Don't drop the soap 😉" joke from SpongeBob wasn't mentioned, unless that episode isn't banned because it was pretty messed up.

Baxter Stockman episode I remember aired on Cheeze TV in Australia back in the mid 2000s during the 3rd or 4th season of the 2003 TMNT. I was really impressed as I was a fan of the original 80s Cartoon and felt like this was almost as Dark as the Comics they were aiming to adapt to. The reason why I know it was during the later seasons, because this was perhaps one of the final episodes that featured this former Shredder employee.

Lol. My niece and nephew say that this guy 16:28 is a “Breed Traitor”… i had to stop them from saying it because of the potential other implications, but their point was “What kind of dog works for the dog catcher?” Which like… mood.

25:19 Definitely should have put an epilepsy warning right before that scene if you were going to show it. Well I actually think these effects look really cool, many people don't have awareness of the problems with why this episode was banned and the sudden frame-by-frame flashing of the two worst colors to flash was probably a bad idea to not have a warning beforehand, especially since you did not address it has flashing lights until after you showed it. Otner than that, do appreciate you actually showing it in general. So many people talk about it and never show how violent the visuals are there. And it is a clear reminder that the Porygon Incident only banned flashing lights in anime. Cartoons are still fully unhinged. And ultimately, that's great. I enjoy seeing artists express themselves fully. The only problem I had with the anime side of it was that, besides the "well lit room" warning, they just outright gave some strict rules that mostly made animators play it safe for over a decade and screen dim stuff that falls in-between. With examples like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood being amidst the last anime to ever have frame-by-frame effects ever since. I personally would've been okay with just the warning being mandated and screen dimming being used much more often instead of them outright refusing to air certain anime. Despite the rules only effecting TV anime, films and OVAs still play safe card regardless and you just never see the effect anymore. I can for sure say any mostly to fullscreen flashing has not been seen since Cyber Soldier Porygon. Animators eventually pushed back hard enough for intense motion frames to return, but even those still have strong screen dimming. Which is honestly completely fine since that means the home release will be restored. But I do miss those cool flashing effects a lot. _TL;DR: Remember to put epilepsy warnings for flashing scenes if you plan on showing them, cartoons are still allowed to go ham with animation which is nice, anime got screwed over altogether, the "well lit room" warning and heavy screen dimming should have been the only mandated regulations because then the home releases can be released unmodified._
