I just ordered this book. I'm a creative and have been writing songs and poetry since the 2nd grade (Beatle fan) and drawing, painting, writing Books, went on to starting studying and writing advertising, went to college for digital mass media, worked in set design, TV and more. I prefer writing and recording music. What he says it absolutely correct however, this world does much to prevent you from doing it. They demand robots, servants, machines. Its hardest to produce art while enmeshed in "life" level living, thinking and emotions. No one will usually ever understand your creative process and may even aggressively try to repress your practice. The tide of the on universe may constantly be going against you.

Yeah! I just watched Kurzgesagt - In A Nutshell: The Past We Can Never Return To (kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5PKn5-hf7Wal5Y) before this and It was the same message but with a focus on early human creativity. Boggles me how KZbin does that.

I just picked up this hardcover last week - I have always thought that if Rick Rubin were to write a book, it should be on his creative- and life-philosophy, not about how to produce records or any sort of autobiography. I do, however, think he should write an autobiography one day though.
