I saw "The Creator" last night. It was probably one of the most immersive science fiction films since Blade Runner. And the little girl was amazing. That being said, I still felt a little distanced from the situation. I didn't feel as invested in the characters as I think I should have been.

Because there was no time spent with any of them really. I liked it but didn't love it. Couple of small things bugged me like every time someone gets shots with a sticky grenade - they never notice it. Like Wtf?

With every film John David Washington does, you can see how he’s gotten better and better as an actor and strong leading man. If Marvel ever come knocking his door, I think he would make an excellent Black Panther!

this movie had the potential to be GREAT. I'm so sad at the pacing and main plot point writing though. They needed to let it breathe and build up our connection to the leads instead of the more "chase em" style flick we got. Still, i enjoyed it, but it could have been timeless.

Amazing premise and visually pleasing. Unfortunately it falls a bit short with the writing and when you think a bit deeper. I do love Sci-Fi, AI, and tech/mech in general, so I'm a bit biased. Regardless, there were some elements and subplots that imo could have easily been touched up and polished, it would've brought the movie to an 8.5 or 9. In the end, it became average and a 7.2/10 from IMDB seems to be a fair score.

Not a big science fiction fan...and this movie just solidifies that. I was left with a lot of questions. Didn't understand the relationships, or accepted them for that matter. Blowing everything up really didn't help. I had to fast forward the shooting scenes, as usual, because they didn't make sense. Really liked Alphie and Joshua as characters, but...and then Maya at the end? I just don't understand science fiction. Nothing comes across as genuine.
