“We learnt on the job” is the best thing young artists can say. Bless HBO for trusting new creatives with this kind of courage/vision.

Yasmins decision was almost 80% made at the gas station where she was repulsed seeing average family life in the car next to her as well as robert scratching a ticket

he had/ was about to get a decent job i dunno why he thought he needed to buy scratchcards lol

@@mikeb3018 for someone who was born into decadence, i don't think a decent job would ever be enough for her. I didn't like the reveal at the end of the episode regarding her childhood but I think that aside, the choice is clear when she is so accustomed to a certain lifestyle and she accepted that its far easier to choose like and generational wealth than love and comfortable living.

@@mikeb3018 It's really just habits. The point of the scene was even after working at pierpoint for years, at the end of the day he is a working class dude and always will be at the core.

S3 was amazing, on par with Succession, such a gift for 2024, so glad the writers stepped it up. Loved how they talked about the Rishi episode, probably the best episode in the series, my fav character and great actor his and hope they explore more of Rishi in S4. I think S4 will be just as good if not better, the writers/directors have worked it out

Don’t compare it to succession please, its good but succession never had non-banger seasons

Amazing how they had the same budget for all seasons and how they used the budget in Season 3, im going to watch season 3 again, Rishi episode and finale were my favs. I miss good tv

While I understand what they mean by their professionalisation as TV writers, I also think all the character payoffs is very much based on what the show was in season 1. I like that they are allowing the scope of the show to grow with them, but it was always great from the first episode and all the stakes feel more earned than they would have if they were in season 1. Basically, I'm a season 1 truther.

The budget was the same for all three seasons, wow

Season 3 did a great job of paying off season 1 in terms of how each characters motivations have changed or been ever more present, as they have grown as people. In terms of Jasmine her behaviour patterns have been almost vindicated as a product of constant abuse/trauma and living in denial throughout her life. Jasmine doesan't know an ordinary life hence why she is disgusted by the prospect of living one with Rob. Harper has changed in the way she now graves more human connection and is making less self destructive decisions. Eric's betrayal was taken as a learning lesson for her in the end, rather than her being vengeful and alone by the end of season 3. Making Rishi a real human with more layers and being fleshed out was brilliant. Him being an addict for risk and that leading to his whole life blowing up was great to watch as you are rooting for him one minute and then realising there truly is no way back for him. In the end the dark side of his behaviour traits and decisions came to burn his world to the ground.

Bit of a cop out for them to not mention the fact the Yasmin story is HEAVILY lifted from Ghislaine Maxwell - her father disappeared under similar circumstances in the same way. And Rishi is very clearly modelled on certain aspects of Rishi Sunak, the country life, the flashiness.
