I'm seeing some people say that it's too generic looking, and I agree, but it's what RTS needs right now. We don't need a Generals Zero Hour with all the different generals to choose from, it would be information overload, what RTS needs right now is a basic bitch that can attract the newer generation to play RTS again so it can get the needed traction so we can get more studios/devs creating more RTS in the future. Also, sidenote if you like RTS games there's a community-driven game that's free called Beyond All Reason it's a Total Annihilation inspired game, and it looks very good.

best choice they did let you and asmon play test it otherwise i would never know about this masterpiece giving players individual freedoms to expand creativity dude this creators are Smart ! look at minecraft how it expanded cant wait to see how crazy that game will be and the most exitement will the co op vs bosses or raids

It looks decent enough although terribly derivative - which is expected considering the devs pedigree. Some good ideas here and there (and again, what's up with this "hero units" thing). I would like very much to see Grubby be given a copy of it and methodically tear it apart and offer some commentary. Also also, the art direction is cartoony - but in a bad, overtuned way a la Overwatch. You would expect Starcraft people (esp. Starcraft 1 people) to know better than that.

I was mega-excited for this until I found out it was F2P. Everyone knows F2P games are twice as expensive as real games. No way I'm spending my time on an RTS that needs to somehow extract $100 out of me before giving me the actual game.

I've played a lot of RTS games and the best kind are C&C with mods like Contra, Firestorm, and Shockwave Chaos mods. As for Starcraft 2, it's too fast for me and difficult to use abilities on all units. I'd rather have a C&C style game with loads of units and base defenses. This is game is just a cartoon warcraft and starcraft combo. Where's my unit spam and base tesla coils.

The game looks like it's in early alpha in terms of visual design and many of the units look like placeholders. I sincerely hope that this glossy cartoony style is not the future for RTS.

This game looks like they took starcraft and put it on a warcraft map. I dont like it. I want a new game with new units. Go get ideas from Generals Zero Hour Contra Mod and you can find some good balance.

Eh this looks alright at BEST, this literally looks like a framework replica of Starcraft 2...but with different unit skins. Even the races have high resemblance to the Starcraft universe races and how they play in-game. Oh this unit gets morphed into the building its creating? I wonder what that sounds like hmmmm... 🤔....oh this Infernal race has this weird ground around its buildings...looks similar to creep huh?🤣 I wouldn't doubt it if this IS a sponsored stream and Esfand is just saying its not. Yall remember how China is developing its own WoW after the split? This looks like China's SC2.

If every shared game mechanic or aesthetic parallel is a cheap knockoff as you claim, then every FPS is a ripoff of Doom, every 3d platformer is a ripoff of Mario64, every turn-based rpg is a ripoff of Phantasy Star, etc etc. I disagree. "Ermm, tab target selection...? WoW much...? Ermm, a charged jump...? Mario 2 much...?" Originality is a shallow western modernist canard and the pursuit of uniqueness and originality at all costs has damaged entertainment media.

Well technically they can use the ideas again as they are after-all the team that created those games right? (Ex Blizzard) it's not their fault Blizzard Merged with Activision and became w0ke and fked up their legacy and their reputation of making quality games, while massively insulting their fanbase in the process. I do agree with you that they should at least try to implement some unique ideas but the thing that bugs me is the art and designs look lazy and weak, they have a good foundation but the units and buildings are lacking that magic that Warcraft2 and 3 +SC1 had for example where each one was cool too look while also being distinctive and easily recognisable.

I'm sorry, as much as I would like to love it - it is mediocre. Graphically it's a mobile game with not much unique gameplay to offer. I know a lot of indie games which are more deserving of the hype this gets.
