Just a quick update on this vid since it still seems to be getting views regularly: When I made this video, My channel only had 72 subscribers. My content was low yielding (100-3,000 views) and I didn't expect this video to blow up the way it did. I rushed putting it together to hopefully get a couple thousand views while the topic was still relevant. Ive read everyone's complaints and will make sure future content is of a higher caliber. That is untrue. For one, I don't even think the derp crew is a serious group compared to the creatures. By that, I mean they call themselves that and sometimes name things based off of it but it nowhere as refined as the creatures was nor does it define them (it is a lot more relaxed and it based on friendship than anything).

Indeed. 2011-2015 were some of the best years of my life simply because of The Creatures. I truly wish I could go back to those days. While Cow Chop brought back the feeling of those golden days for a good year and a half, Cow Chop has been going on a slow decline in quality. At least for me. With Aron, Joe and Trevor leaving, barely game play videos at all, most videos having only either James or Aleks, when the whole channel was originally supposed to be mostly both of them being in videos, I've found myself watching Cow Chop's content less and less. It's not a bad channel or anything, I just don't like it as much anymore. I struggle to even watch the 2011-2015 videos on the Creatures anymore due to the great sadness they bring. While the golden age of The Creatures may have long since past, the memories of that group of friends fucking around and having fun will never fade, and I will always hold them dear.

I've been watching the creatures for years,it saddens me to see how it all ended and to see how jordan was the cause of it but once again,to wish him death is too far. You're only thinking of the negatives here,think positive. At least now we have cow chop. What went wrong? Jordan broke rules that he made himself and treated the creates like a business and company not allowing true friendship, this pissed off some of their best content producers to the point of quitting, and the rest just left over time as the creatures deteriorated.

You'll notice Criken is often skirting that boundary as well, when he himself made his success off essentially filming the ABadFeeling crew, which Martz or whoever the fuck did right. The other day Criken started a stream with Tomato and Gmart, and then proceeded to play the single player for an hour and twenty minutes, while the other two waited in a multiplayer lobby, disguising their pleas for him to stop being a prick as a comedy bit. Dude rarely shows up for organised streams on time, he's an alcoholic, and he gets caught up in his millionaire projects like his video game, or Ghost Squad or whatever. Criken isn't the main funny thing about his streams, it's what happens in them, and he needs a wake-up call or it's gonna go south.

Man, this is sad. I'm 18 years old. I started watching the Creatures when I was 11 (starting with James). In fact, James' channel was actually the first gaming channel I ever watched and was what inspired me to ask my father for an Xbox for my birthday one year to begin playing video games. To be honest, I'd say I watched at least one of the Creatures' videos nearly every single day of my life from the age of 11 to 17. Their videos really made me feel happy when I needed to sometimes. I mostly owe that to Aleks and James, but I had a little love for all of the Creatures. For some reason, as a kid, you can form these stupid emotional connections with people you don't even know and that is exactly what I did. As a kid, watching the conflict among these guys fester, I honestly felt kinda sad. Now it kinda just feels like that time for 90s kids where a TV show got cancelled like DBZ or something, but man it kinda sucks seeing some of your childhood heroes grow apart. Jk... The Creatures are broke af (I rlly fuck with Cow Chop tho)

Alex L This is largely incorrect. Gassy left because many of the Creatures were tired of him not being there to create content and build the company since he was always with his girlfriend. Seamus left in account of being ill and depression, a sentiment shared by Kevin. Sly left to take care of his mother after his father passed away, and Dex left because his visa had expired and as you mentioned, he never really felt like a creature because Jordan and Dan made him feel like more of an employee. James and Aleks left for entirely creative reasons. This bullshit about James liking Stefani isn't true, it's just wishful thinking. The Creatures weren't necessarily becoming less funny or creative, it's just that so many of its contributors left for personal reasons.

I remember thinking for a long time that Dan was the problem with the creatures but by the end I realised I was wrong. Dan was working his hardest to keep everyone together and keep the channel going. Meanwhile Jordan got himself a girlfriend and basically stopped caring and then ended the creatures when he got a job offer for a games studio. So basically he stringed Dan along with the idea of keeping the creatures going until he could find an alternative and then immediately jumped ship when he had one. Which is awful because Dan seemed to be the closest to Jordan so it seems like he just abandoned his best friend. I really hope Dan does well on his own, he deserves success after all the work he put in. Everyone else is doing okay on their own and I hope Dan can find some more popularity.

This video is just full of wrong information. Gassy was voted out not because he moved out of the house but because he wasn't doing a whole lot for the Hub channel at all. At the time he only was appearing in the odd video and that was rare. Seamus left because he had serious mental health issues that he needed to deal with and being a part of the group wasn't helping. Stef didn't sign anything to do with not dating coworkers. That was an office rule. James and Stef were never a couple. The reason James was so upset with Jordan was because Jordan broke the rules they all agreed to and started dating Stef. After so long of being held back creatively by Jordan this whole dating this was the final straw for James. Gassy was never a part of the DerpCrew either. Maybe do some more research next time you make one of these videos. You're spreading lies about people who gave you and I and tons of other people countless hours of joy for free. If you cared about these people in any way you would remove this video and make a new version correcting your mistakes and citing where you are getting this info.

I still cry. I wish The Creatures and Cow Chop would go back together again. I remember The Creature Hub was one of the first channels I ever watched on KZbin. I remember it was a golden age, and I still watch their old videos over and over. I wish I could skip school to sit and watch them, but now that they aren't producing content anymore, it just isn't that good. James + Aleks + Jordan + Dan = Golden combo. I wish they would do a video together again. I feel like a part of my life has fallen off. :(

I started watching these guys at their peak while i was in high school, i legitimately feel bad about how things unded up. When james and aleks left, the feeling i had for the group died. Cow chop is fucking awesome, but i still miss the movie nights, dexter's chemistry with aleks and james, the unique style, etc.

The message this video and The Creatures as a whole sends is so incredibly important for creators. KZbinr/Twitch houses don't work. They ALWAYS end up in drama. I can think of maybe 1 instance where this isn't true and that's 1 out of many. The moment a group a friends doing what they love and having a blast turns into a business everything comes crashing down. You have people upset that they feel they are funnier than others and think they deserve a higher paycheck, there's the everlasting issue of people not respecting the space of others and not being good roommates, there's drama that gets passed around people within the house, etc. TLDR: DON'T TURN YOUR FRIENDSHIP INTO A BUSINESS. Don't make the money your primary focus.

They'd be best to understand what caused them to fail, while still keeping in mind that having fun and entertaining the fans is the main goal.

I feel like the Creatures are the polar opposite of the Original Rooster Teeth. Rooster Teeth has always acted like a business, and everyone had business relationships while doing their work. The Creatures seemed way too personally involved, and seemed to not have the same level of professionalism as the OG Rooster Teeth. Also, the boys in the Creatures were way too young and inexperienced. Jordan should have been like Brett from Cow Chop. An older and experienced member of the industry who could make business decisionss and be unbiased, as well as chorale the more insane aspects of the group.

Nice video, just a thing, when you mention someone put footage or pictures of the people you are mentioning, for example at 4:46 you're talking about Stephanie and Artist Joe but the footage is unrelated to them. It happened a lot in the video and a person who doesn't know all the members of the Creatures will be lost with all the names and the mixed footage.

Even though Jordan did somewhat come off as a pompous ass on the video announcing the ending of the company, I don't think it was fair for so many people to hate on him simply because Dan looked sad. Dan had always had his place in the Creatures especially with more of the technical work, but everyone is lying to themselves if they thought the channel could have kept going much longer. Neither were great content creators and their channels reflected that. Dan couldn't keep sliding by and make a living off KZbin any longer.

People don't hate Jordan because of the exit video. People hate Jordan because he was the driving force for the Creatures as a business, and alienated a lot of people because of it. Beforehand, the creatures were like the Derp Crew, a group of friends who made videos together. The name was not a brand, just a group name. Jordan pushed for the development of the LLC, which drove chilled and Junk away. When he and Dan voted Gassy out for not making enough videos for the hub, it drew a line in the sand that pissed off a lot of fans. You do not exclude someone you called a friend with a vote. The line it drew was "You work for the hub or you're out". When Sly had to move away, he could have very easily continued to make videos over skype like before, but the line had been drawn and he didn't feel comfortable. When Seamus put his channel on hiatus (not for the first time, mind you), he felt it necessary to quit as well. As Jordan put more and more restrictions on content while also demanding more and more content, it alienated Kevin and Dex, and eventually drove Aleks and James to make CowChop to make videos without Jordan refusing to let them upload anything not PG.

Man I remember watching the creatures in their prime time of 2014. I Had just became a 7th grader, and learned about the creatures from a friend in computer app class. Now I'm a freshmen in high school and about to become a sophomore. Like many others I had switched over to cow chop. I'm really sad about the creatures disbanding. As that was the glue for my friendships in middle school.
