The Creepiest Ghost Town in Montana will BLOW your mind! According to "Only in Your State," a historic gold rush mining town located in Beaverhead County is Montana's creepiest ghost town. We decided to check it out for ourselves and spent an entire day exploring the town's ruins. This documentary details everything we encountered while we were there.
About me: I grew up in a small town the Midwest. Now I drive America's backroads exploring small towns, forgotten places, local history and more!

My husband and I really enjoyed this video! So much history! My husband and I noticed something bizarre at about the 12:23 mark. This is right after you show the red "Get Out" sign. The house across the street has what we first thought was a person walking from the left to right in front of the house. BUT, when we slowed the video down, this thing appeared to be partially transparent and was moving oddly. Please let us know what you think! Maybe it was a normal person and the camera was just glitching. It just seems very strange to us.

I don't think there have been any. I never heard of and movies being filmed in that area anyway. Most movies that are shot in the surrounding areas are local b-rated movies. There was an episode of Ghost Adventures covered the town once.

I think Marty has found his element. The bar owner/sherriff. He would control the town. This was really a fun video. Brought back memories of the 1960s when we kids were raised in a town where there was no city plumbing system. Everyone had pumps and privvies. Imagine the daily chores to be done when this town was functioning. They must have had longer days back then. Bachelor's so tired that they didn't care how little they had. Just wanted to rest. Love to see this place at night. I'm a major spook about things like that, but maybe the ghosts would tell us more of what life was like. Thank you for the tour 😊😊.

The amazing part of how many buildings are standing and why there aren't more ghost towns similar to Bannack, is FIRE, towns such as Bannack were usually burned to the ground twice, often the second fire is what turned the settlement into a ghost town...Bannack seems to have been very blessed or an excellent fire brigade or both🎉🎉❤

Excited to watch this! Wow, it is well preserved. That cementary reminds me of one I have visited in Nevada. Interesting tidbit about enclosing the graves in iron to prevent wandering spirits. Three seat privy is funny and interesting. Bachelor row is definitely interesting. Love that old wagon with the sign on the side Sold by . Haunted town is my kind of ghost town to visit. The cabin with the white timbers seem better built. Vigilante justice was always swift. Those gallows certainly looks a little different than others I have seen. The jail sure looked interesting! The doctor's house looked nicely preserved. That's funny what you pointed out a woman could use to beat her drunk husband. Wallpaper certainly was used a lot back then. The moulding is always nice touch in those old homes. As a pharmacist I find the selling and use of patent medicine interesting! The William Rowe house was treat to see. Yes you can see waves in the old glass. Wow placer mining ! Grasshopper creek is a nice creek still. Methodist church was nicely preserved. The school was also a masonic temple is unique., and used for 70 years, Wow!! The interesting rules they had for teachers back in 1915. The masonic lodge was unique also. The brands on the wall were certainly interesting! Love that old saloon with that old wooden bar. The old hotel/courthouse certainly is grand. Love that old oven. Beautiful staircase!! Love this video!! Well done!!

Hello, after watching your video I just had to join. I live in Montana and we have a lot more ghost towns. You should visit Nevada City, also. Its not really a ghost town but it is totally associated with Bannock. Now times its not to far from Bannock but in the 1800's the stage ran regularly between the towns. If I remember right that stage run was the one that Plummets gang would rob.

So, at 3:06 in the vid of Horace L's Tombstone, the type blew me away. I started my career in a typsetting company, 1987, lol. Various ways to create type. But for that to be on a stone, is very interesting to me. As the word "Died". It has not only drop shadows and highlights, it has these darkened corner areas. Nice... outstanding and surprising for those days.Quite a beautiful tombstone.

Wow, if I was a billionaire I would figure out how to,buy the whole town and set out to restore everything to its former glory. It’s a spectacular place. Wouldn’t make it into tourist trap but more like a living history museum where people could come and learn about the history and customs of the old west. I know it’s a pipe dream because I’m not nor ever will I be a billionaire and I’m sure the state of Montana would never let t go but wouldn’t it be awesome to see everything restored and beautiful. Maybe due themes based on different phases of history like the 1800’s up to the point where it went down hill so the living history player would be dressed for different era’s with period clothing, furniture and vehicles.
