Me and my family moved here 24 years ago. My wife and I liked the small town aspect and that SHAWANO was close enough to GB and Appleton but far enough to be it’s own city. The downtown was in a bit of decline at the time. The Hartwig family, the Stock sisters and Gilling brothers as well as others are owed recognition for turning the tide. While I may grumble about the traffic and people that invade our community each summer I am proud to call SHAWANO home.

Glad you enjoyed the museum and were able to add it to your trip! Fun Fact: In the front hallway you can see barbershop display with Leonard Hartwig's barber chair, where he cut John Dillinger's hair! See you next time and thanks for visiting!

Shawano cafe has the best food in that whole town.. and it's not just because they have the best service and friendly staff working for Justin and Katie which are both awesome people. . location is highway 22 & 29. Otherwise Shawano is a great town my family started buying land in this town in 1967 back when they had parking meters on main Street. And a old fashion ice cream shop which just closed a few years ago. I live on South main Street i moved up here full time 25 years ago because I always loved this town God bless the United States of America and God bless Shawano. Blessings from fine line lewy peace out.

Awesomesauce!! Thank you Sally for visiting more of my Childhood/family places I remember. I starting drinking Sun-drop when I was 2ish. There is a photo of me in footed PJs, sleeping, sucking my thumb and my arm wrapped around an empty Sun-drop bottle. Interesting note from my experience, Sun-drop bottled in Green Bay doesn't taste as good as the ones bottled in Shawano. Better quality of water. Also, I was born at Shawano County Hospital ('73). I wish I had taken my kids to the Sun-drop museum when I was in Bonduel a couple of months ago for a funeral.
