Nice version, linguistically very acceptable, and well sung with a particularly lovely fiddle solo. Da iawn chi!

This is really beautiful. Lovely harmony. Translation from Omniglot.com: There is my sweetheart There is my sweetheart down in the orchard, Oh how I wish I were there myself, There is the house and there is the barn; There is the door of the cow house open. There is the gallant, branching oak, A vision, lovingly crowned. I will wait in her shade Until my love comes to meet me. There is the harp, there are her strings; What better am I, without anyone to play her for? There’s the delicate fair one, exquisite and full of life; What nearer am I, without having her attention?

I feel that translation isn't quite accurate. The song itself feels Sad. As if....its not just him waiting, the sadness of the song almost seems like he thinks she won't be able to return. Perhaps I am wrong, it is just a thought.

+sapherno11 I love your comment. Now that you've suggested it, I get the same feeling. One of the best things about comment replies is that it takes you back to hear the song again, and this one is more beautiful each time I play it.

It really is a beautiful song :) But as I am not a speaker of the language, I may never know, but I suppose that, in a way, that adds to the mystery and beauty of the song

This was....beautiful, and yet so very sad... Love and sorrow. Thank you for sharing this song with us. Edit: It took a second time, but I recognized the emotion. Its not sorrow, but longing mixed with sadness.

Wales was annexed by England and never achieved official independence, much like Northern Ireland. Culturally they are separate entities but as far as old Mrs. Windsor knows its just England and the England on a different island.
