Summary: I just don't get it, these type of games are clearly inspired by the fact that most of us love fast cars and that whole lifestyle but will probably never get to do it for real. So why oh why do they make such an half arsed game as this that has such a large open world with nothing at all to do in it? Why is it so hard to make a game like Test drive unlimited 2? Imagine this big open world filled with players, who all owned multiple houses and a fleet of cars and to get them cars they had to drive to the specific car show room, park up in the customer car park, get out their car, walk to the showroom door, see the receptionist behind her desk and then walk around the showroom looking at the various model cars, test drive one if you like or just buy it. Then maybe head up to the coast road with your m8's do some cruising, head to the clothes shops, buy a cool new outfit and then all head to the casino and play some roulette. Hell you could even take a picture of your car and hang in on your house wall, hows that for immersion. Then you had the awesome racing, the car customisation the sense of purpose you had in the world, loads of players on line at a time, not four! Nowadays these games are bland, empty worlds with nothing to do other than tear around the streets without any purpose and the kids lap them up like a cat that got the cream, so sad.

I think it's just the fact we are not the audience they are striving to hit. I mean think about this I have a bunch of friends which were and still excited for this pile of garbage this people really don't care that you can spawn a car under their asses from out of nowhere they don't care about the fact that you can change from plane to car in seconds they just want to have fast fun no imersion. (migth I add these are the same people who enjoyed NFS payback) .They are aiming for the broadest audience which ussually wants cheap thrills.That is why the asphalt series is so popular it offers the same expirience. The closest thing I compare the Crew 2 to is having sex with a hooker no passion, no love just animal instinct.(sorry if my English is broken, I am not native speaking)

It's sad to see this game is made by the same people (or a few) that used to make TDU 1 and 2. What has gaming come to...? Why can't we have a updated TDU: big open world, no bs story and characters, lots of cars and garages you can buy. It's so simple but somehow so complicated. I knew the only person I can clearly trust before buying this game is you. Watching your reviews have probably saved me hundreds of pounds haha. Keep up the good work. It's not pay to win because you can only buy cars, without parts. For instance in order to use the 2017 camaro ZL1 you have to obtain Icon100, which means you have to earn it. You can buy it all day with real money, you just can't do anything with it until you hit that lvl. Once you purchase this car and you are able to drive it, you don't have performance parts because you have to earn them. This is why I really don't have an issue with this. It's no different than buying skins in other games because again, your buying a bare bones ride. They done this for people that just don't have time to farm the game. No harm no foul in my book.

Love your reviews! Here's my comment though Review Mirrors - Agree 110%, was severely disappointed they do not work and it causes me to hit AI/friends because I can't see them (this will cause PVP players to believe you are hitting them purposely... Gear wise - I will state that putting parts on your car are at the beginning "equip the one on the end", but later when you get the good shit it's "which perk helps me best". Every loot drop game is like this, beginning gear is only there to help you get the best gear. In-game Credits - I'm ok with this because it allows you to buy cars that can be bought without real money yet those who use real money still have to earn the parts. Force Feedback - I adjusted this in the options menu (turned it all the way up, it's turned down) and it works pretty good with my Thrustmaster T150 PVP - This is heart breaking learning there is no PVP.... BUT I do hope when it releases there are stricter races. What I mean by this is "Here's a street race, recommended perf lvl is 100 max is 120". I just think it would be amazing to require us to build our cars to the race. Do I want the best tires i have or do I prefer to use my best Motorcore? Shit forgot to mention... I don't understand why the fuck we can't get out of our vehicles and walk around to check out the cars others on the server have built/painted. I'd like a server with at least 30 people and have a meet and greet lol. That's not asking for much... is it?

I personally enjoyed the beta, about things like the grind, micros transactions and voice acting are true, though the grind can be minimalised if you do multiple different types of races which all reward a fair amount.

I got the crew 2 on black friday. I like it a lot its not a bad game I rate it 7.8/10. (Graphics) The graphics are not bad I wish if it were better but I know that would be hard becuase of the big map. I rate the graphics 7/10 (Cars) The cars are not bad there is a lot of diffrent type of brands but not alot of cars example they have audi cars only two. I understand its kinda hard to get permission for the cars but it would still be excellent if they had more. I rate the cars a 8/10 (Car sound) The car sounds are not bad they are better than the first one but it could still be improved. I rate the car sounds 7.3/10 (Story) In the crew 2 the story is nothing like it is in the first one. On the crew 2 I am not finished it but yet but for the hours I played surprisingly I like it, its not bad. I rate the story 7/10 (Upgrading system) A lot of people dont like the way you upgrade the cars. In my opinion I think its a good way to upgrade the cars its very straight forward. I rate the upgrading system 8.5/10 (Progression system) The crew 2 Progression systen its not bad but its not really that great. Earning money is pretty fast if you come first between third every race you will get the cars that you want fast. I rate the progression system 7/10 (Customization) I have not yet customized anything I went throught the stuff watched some videos. There is not a lot of it for some cars which kinda sucks but its not bad. I rate the customization 7/10 (The ai) The ai could sometimes be really stupid. In any race that you are in they will catch up to you . I rate the ai 7/10

Indeed. It seems enough players are willing to do it despite this. Some season passes, for example Fallout 4, Mafia III, Forza Horizon 3, actually offer a great deal of extra content and are well worth the money if you enjoy the games. But this? Here's my short take. It's fun but it has quite a number of flaws. While I got the Gold Ed, I would probably say wait for a 50% sale or see how the game evolves over time unless you are really intrigued by it. I like it better than Payback, but in its current state, I don't think it's worth full price. And before someone says "You should also take into account their post-launch strategy", we shouldn't take that into account as a major factor when buying something. Yes, it's something to think about long-term, but I never make purchase recommendations based on what is going to be added rather than what's already in.

you can afford good vehichles just by winning a few events so i honestly dont know what your talking about. im already icon level 40 and i have several vehicles maxxed out that can hold thier own pretty well against just about anything and ive only been playing a few days,the only thing i bought was a pass because it had some cool space cosmetics i liked. hell some races stright up give you very good vehicles by winning them...even letting you use them in the race you get them in. ive done all this and havent even started every discpline yet and ive barely done any street racing. so far,the only thing i had to really work toward is the helicopter and thats only because it is a reward for story progression in offroad...that and the tron bike (but really i didint need it,i just thought it was cool looking).

I used to play the Crew (first one) and also TDU as a ZEN games, where you just cruise around in a huge nice looking world, the same reason I play ETS2 and American Truck Simulator. For me whats important about these games are immersion. I think The Crew has great immersion. it has nice graphics, good cockpit view, good sound, huge open world. i would say it's an ok game for that matter. if you don't care about the story, characters, races etc... still not worth the full price in my opinion. I got The Crew (first one) for free and was very happy with it :D

Honestly, I think another big reason they're not yet implementing multiplayer PvP is because the driving doesn't have enough physics to actually competitive with other people. and i know its just a visual, but making a 90 degree turn while only turning the weel 5 degrees look freaking atrocious

I played it for 5 minutes as part of the free weekend and decided it was trash. - The NPCs won't keep quiet, the voice acting wasn't great - The selectable characters are bad - The handling was bad - The city looks lifeless - The AI rubber banding is so blatant that you feel cheated. Spent don't know how long trying to beat Travis in that first race, partly because of poor handling and AI rubber banding and a jump which is laid out poorly. If you take it you'll usually crash into a parked car or building on the landing. Plus the jump is blind so you don't know if you'll crash until you do. None of the AI take the jump, instead they take a road to the left before it (which isn't marked on the map, by the way) and get through the section that way. Need for Speed Underground got this right 14 years ago, why are racing games missing the mark so much today?

The whole "furthest right is best" has been done for 15-20 years now when it comes to upgrading cars in an arcade game. This isnt a simulator Mack, no one should expect simulator-level tuning or upgrading.
