Same here. I remember, I was 15 when this came out, and a friend of mine at school told me about it. I thought "holy shit, that sounds awesome, I always wanted a giant open-world racing game like that!" (because I didn't grow up on NFS or Midnight Club) but completely forgot about it, mostly because I was obsessed with GTA 5 at the time, and everything else just took a backseat to it (pun intended). Fast forward several years later. I've sank countless hours into FH4 and 5, and their online experiences, though not perfect, were a breath of fresh air after getting my ass nuked by Oppressors & Avengers all the time and failing the same Doomsday Heist Setups over & over again. The fact that Ubisoft felt the need to kill off this fantastic game in the worst way possible instead of making it open-source is unbelievably greedy, and I'm surprised their balls haven't been sued off yet. This is why I despise corporate America.

These people found the strength to resurrect The Crew, and I am grateful. I remember when I and the other guys packed up for the last trip, we decided to start driving from the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, and drive all the way to the airport in Miami. Unfortunately, we didn't make it, and some of the people who were riding with me-I guess-disconnected. I rode my mustang, one person on a motorcycle, two people on a Lamborghinis, and one person on a Nissan. We stopped in the middle of a small road somewhere in the desert, took some last screenshots, and slowly watched the sunrise. And as soon as the sun came up a bit, the servers went down. That picture imprinted in my head, and it was like I was saying goodbye to a good friend for the last time. But now I think I'll soon be back on the roads of the United States.

I have a similar experience, but I was alone on the tall mountain in Black Rock or whatever it's called - the one north of the salt flats. You can see half the map from there. It was a surreal experience. Like being in the Matrix and waiting for the simulation to shut down lol
