wow what an extremely informative video, I didn't think it could be explained in a way that made sense in under a minute

Informative and simple. That's what I love in this channel! Any chance you could explain the difference between servo and balance tabs? The seem the same but there must be something different if there to names.

I've always wondered why the propellers aren't counter-rotating. Of course, one could err and design an aircraft with two critical engines... 🤔
@PilotEffect4 жыл бұрын
There are counter rotating props, however from what I understand it increases maintenance costs substantially due to engine side specific parts.
@martinh88 Жыл бұрын
Rather than having two critical engines, aircraft with this design are said to have no critical engine, as failure of either would create the same yawing moment.

do big jet aircrafts like b737 have critical engine mentioned?if yes then what is the parameters... because I think they have same thrust line from longitudinal axis
@zheqiu44295 жыл бұрын
sr 7 There's no critical engine on the turbofan or turbojet, only twin propeller driven aircraft has the term 'Critical engine'.
@user-wg3dh3vo6r4 жыл бұрын
@@zheqiu4429 only "conventional rotating" twin propeller aircraft has to figure out wich one is the "critical engine", and all the twin propeller aircraft you can find these days are all counter rotating. I think they just bring this critical thing out for teaching purpose...

why not just have the other propeller spin the other way?
