lots of detail......all of which very important and time consuming, thanks for taking the time to create this series for people like me who once knew nothing about any of this but now have very important knowledge of maintaining our crosscut saws !

This is by far the most detailed and informative video I have seen so far about sharpening crosscut saws. Thanks so much for preserving all this knowledge for future generations. Regards from Austria!

Oh really? Maybe he just knows a lot about this very niche area…do you think he knows Python programming? What about running a d10 dozer? Seems that all evidence points to the fact that he knows how to file an outdated piece of equipment…considering i can throw a 60” bar on a 3120 and be done in a fraction of the time…and do not need a specialized jig to be able to file my chain…. Guys living in the past and is not the guy i want for my neighbor…i want the guy running heavy equipment, modern technology, etc…

Thanks for posting this series of videos. I had no idea that sharpening a saw was so complicated but I'm very grateful that you've taken the time to show the process. I recently bought a one man crosscut saw to cut down a hedge next to an owl aviary - the chainsaw was upsetting the birds so I thought that using old methods was the answer. Now the hedge is done and the saw needs sharpening.... Wish me luck because it looks like I'm going to need it!

Thank you for having the concern for the wildlife and choosing to go the quieter more peaceful old-school route. I'm sure the birds appreciated it.

Thanks for uploading this. It’s a mindfart to follow at first, especially since the order is being played backwards? But very great and informative series!

So where was the jointing process shown? I'm confused because the video series seems to be backwards from the steps listed to sharpen the saw

Quite informative series. However, running the "steps" in reverse order is rather confusing. I suppose I could download each video and rework the ordering the sections to be in the correct order of operations, but would that be a violation of copyright if it is only for personal use and not to be redistributed?
