In a weightlifting meet, I'd say at least 35-40% of these lifts would be redlighted for press out.
@ypoxondrios8 жыл бұрын
Of course , but anyway all of them they are very good weigh lifters with very good technique! Just the overload in one day will fuck up the technique

The commentators sometimes just talk in platitudes. Travis Williams does not like to throw heavy weights around. He said this in another video. He said that he likes to be in the pain-zone of a metcon.

Different ball game. The individual year in 2015 was far more brutal than the team division.

The programming was much more fun back then. A snatch ladder AND a C&J max? Heavy DT? Murph? Now we get stuck watching bicycle nonsense and carrying crash test dummies and water jugs around.

What makes the guys so stocky?? I know they lift a load and whatever, but if you see that kind of physique online, you'll know it's a crossfitter's. What's up with that?

+Bandgeek352 Quite a few flexing bars taken into the jerk, and a more than a few lifts ok'ed short of full lockout, too.
@wellbelowaverage8 жыл бұрын
No they shouldn't. If you kick a guy in the face in a boxing match you'll be disqualified, but in MMA it's perfectly fine. CrossFit and Olympic lifting are different sports. Why is that so hard for people to understand?
@zaphod8887 жыл бұрын
It's essentially a semantic issue, though that's not to say it's not important. CrossFit and Olympic lifting are different things, true. However, CrossFit explicitly refers to the Olympic lifts as Olympic lifts; they retain all the terminology of Olympic lifting, but do not apply it properly. If they called it something different, it wouldn't be an issue, but they insist on continuing to use the terms "clean and jerk" and "snatch" while not enforcing that their competitors actually perform those movements. As far as I'm concerned, it's up to CrossFit to decide whether they want to allow pushouts, or thrusters, or whatever. BUT, it's disingenuous to keep calling the event the "clean and jerk" when the competitors are not required to perform either a clean or a jerk to get a pass.
@matcoddy60977 жыл бұрын
what about what they call deadlifts in strongman, different rules, which is understood because its done in the context of the sport
@zaphod8887 жыл бұрын
Hmm. Fair point. I think I'll stick to ragging on CrossFit for its Hanlon's-Razor-esque programming from now on.
