Come on guys, everybody hating on the form has to keep this in mind: first they said the event started 15 minutes after event 1 which took a toll on the legs. Second: it is a one rep max, i guess everybody assumes a 1 rep max is gonna look as clean as when doing sets of ten. Finally its a competition, they are going to give it their all to get that last pull even if it takes recruiting every other muscle in their body.
@neversaw8 жыл бұрын
Plus they go by strongman rules so they allow hitching and a curved controlled back is ok in someone who can deadlift well. In a beginner it's a no no but when you have that control and core push out its ok.

***** The guy said "there's dudes pulling 900lbs+ with a rounded back without hernias". Your responded: "link me one". This is what i did. About the crossfitter girl I 100% agree. Her form is atrocious, ugliest i have ever seen and with high risk of injury. The rounding is lumbar not thoracic(which is ok), but some other girls deadlifted with decent form.

should it even be counted as a proper deadlift if there backs are rounded. forgive me, I'm new to all this.
@JoeyAme8 жыл бұрын
+BIOL6895 form is like fourth in line when it comes to priorities. It's all about the most reps with heaviest weight in shortest amount of time. If you're new to lifting then a bit of advice is that good form will lessen the chance of injury.
@leonmane18808 жыл бұрын
BIOL6895 it's VERY important that you have good form otherwise you'll snap your shit up. if your form is all fucked up like these crossfit chicks, it means that the weight is too heavy for you and you have bad technique. drop 5-10% and try again with good form. this applies if you experience form break down for any of your lifts. this is a marathon, not a sprint and if you want to actually benefit from lifting good form is extremely important

Do not pretend for one second that this form is ok. HUGE reason why people come hard at crossfit. You can enjoy and support it but if you are about to defend that form for ANY reason, you are simply making a dumb excuse. And btw, proper form allows you to lift more weight, because you are driving more from the core and legs and not back. Crossfit is interesting, but don't tell me there isn't problems here
@mikekwaks79118 жыл бұрын
also worth mentioning to look at the guys video, more consistent form even at higher weights, when their form is off, it's the acceptable kind of off, not to the extent shown here

How can you blame bad form on a fitness ideology? If people with bad form quit crossfit and joined powerlifitng, would it still be crossfit's fault when they show bad form? Seems more like a people issue than a fitness paradigm issue.

This comment made you look very stupid. The fact that extremely dangerous form is clearly seen in the video, dosent requiere you to be a coach. Those arches are not healthly, anyone with a few years of dealifting, no not evening years just a few months can see thats not good. I know sometimes there are "experts" in the comments, by in this case man its clear as day. It almost looks like you dont deadlift, you dont need to be an expert on deadlifts, just know to keep your back straight. Both of you, really missed the nail on the head with these comments.

Wonder why they all struggle with the lockout.... maybe it has something to do with the horrible set up and not pulling tension out of the bar... or not initiating the lift with a push....
