Hi! This was an awesome tutorial. Could you please do one on tight turns? I am having trouble doing tight turns as I can't seem to place my outside edge properly and I am a bit confused with the weight distributions of my legs during the movement.

Your description of technique has helped me and my son a ton. You know exactly what beginner/intermediate players need to work on. So glad I found your channel.

Beautifully explained. Yes, the key is balance.

After all these years... balance is the secret. I would spend way more time on dedicated balance work in the learning phases. The results will come. Build the Base!!

Great tips Ian, I'll try and use your phrasing and approach during practice tonight. We've got a couple of players that could use some good tips.

Another great video! Glad to see you're back at work. I know I've been struggling to not just use crossovers going to the right, which I can do, but just need to really work on actually using in beer league, but I've noticed my left turn crossovers are rough, so the point where my left turns are almost entirely riding the outside leg on the inside edge. I've been working on the crossovers, but now I need to find some Stick and Puck time to really work on using the crossovers to really take advantage of gaining speed through turns. Another thing that I think would be a really helpful video would be something to help with diagnosing your stride and improving it. I always try to tell myself "get lower" but then I feel like I'm still just constantly standing too upright and too narrow-legged when I see myself skating in videos.

Sir, on inline skates, do you recommend the weight on the heel as well for forward crossovers. I saw many videos where they insist the weight in the ball of the supporting foot. Thank you
