I was at this gig, a fantastic and terrifying night. Great music. Had to dodge pints of piss all night. 3 guys got sparked out for bumping into people. I whited out during Champagne supernova and was too scared to move. Got lost somewhere in Manchester walking out of the place and got followed by some dodgy dudes. Felt lucky to get home 🤣.

Yeah i was there, it was a fantastic gig, this song was written by Andy Bell the bassist, he's a top songwriter. Noel tries to take credit still in interviews for stopping the gig to sort that barrier crack, although you can clearly see it is actually Liam who points it out and says Woah woah no no, and waves his hand about to point it out to Noel, then Noel signals the others to stop, Noel can never stand to be outdone by Liam 😂

At one point during the day 500,000 people rang the freephone number in five minutes, tickets were selling at a rate of ten per second.

yeah Andy Bell (bass player) was the songwriter, vocalist in a band called RIDE (early 90's) they were on creation records the same as Oasis.

If you're as good a guitarist as he is, it's really not hard. Just a bit more physical but the theory is infant school stuff for a 6 string player. He probably bled a lot and had lots of blisters in the 1st 6 months.

Have you guys actually seen what happened at the gig. I was was there. It was mental. The actual crowd surged forward and broke the barrier. It was weird to see, I was sat to the right of noel just off the pitch, so me and a friend saw it all happen. There is a video of it happening. Strange to see that there is only one barrier at the front of that crowd. Given it’s 2005 I would have expected more zoning of the crowd. In 2000, after the deadly Pearl Jam gig at Roskilde, most festivals and large venues started adopting more crowd control measures to avoid large amounts of crowds moving I unison causing the front rows to become crushed. That is why at gigs nowadays you see the area in front of the stage split in vertical and horizontal sections. Also nowadays you usually don’t stand on grass (or mud) anymore, the area in front of the podium is always fitted with rubber floorboards to help people have a firm footing, etc…

I was there! the stoppages at the start took more than 30mins, camera starting zooming in on the crowd and when it got to a girl, the crowd egged them on to flash the crowd. It got to one girl, who finally flashed and the whole crowd started booing. Funny at the time but man it was savage

Hi guys.. just wanted to inform you of the fact that when Oasis get older and were making records, each band member contributed to their albums. I'm not sure of the details but that's all I know. So the latter day Oasis were maybe a hot porch of different songs. I've heard Noel saying that he was happy with this arrangement as it took the pressure off him to have to keep writing every day and night mo'st likely. So there's your truths of today. Cheers guys. I love your show and watch it every day (I don't work except on the internet so I am home every day with enough time and freedom to do these things!) Xx😂

That's one of my fave songs from the Heathen Chemistry sessions..... if that song had taken the place of "A Quick Peep" (another one from Andy) I truly believe it would had made that album so much better! Maybe Noel (or Liam) were a bit jealous that Andy was coming up with such great tunes and feared that TYFTGT would outshine some of their other songs (Turn up The Sun was already a great Andy track!) Anyways, I'm another huge fan of Thank You For The Good Times and it's been on my top Oasis playlists since the moment I listened to it!
