A dive into XTC never is a bad thing. Love this band so much. Thank you Tim ❤️🔥

Great video Tim! I too have that UK pressing of Nonsuch and it absolutely incredible. Top 5 in my record collection on both sound and quality of material.

I was lucky enough to get to see XTC in concert when I was a senior in high school. They opened for The Police on their Zenyatta Mondatta tour.

You’re the expert on XTC really appreciate your detailed descriptions. EXTC is touring with drummer Terry Chambers. The signature drum beat of XTC! Thank You

I got premier seating at the City Winery Boston now to tell Jenny Lol She is like why have you mentioned the drummer on English Settlement 3K times? Then she says I like it great!

A fan of XTC so really enjoyed this run down of your UK originals collection. I have been enjoying the recent years reissues - they came up very very well I have experienced 👍

The 2 LP 45 RPM Skylarking reissue is the one to own. My fav XTC is Black Sea although hard to choose.

Cheers Tim for championing this band, they disappeared from view in the UK after initial hits, became a niche listen,

Really happy the Ape House reissues are out there 🙏🏻

Thanks for this Tim. XTC are overdue for rediscovery by a new legion of fans. One of the best British bands from 1977 to 1999. Andy Partridge is our Brian Wilson. I would put Oranges and Lemons in place of Mummer. Like you I find the APE re-issues 'polite' but good and I have UK first pressings of English Settlement, Oranges and Lemons and Nonsuch. There are wonderful sounding records. Also you did forget to mention the late great Gus Dudgeon's production on Nonsuch. The producer behind Elton John's astonishing run of albums in the 1970's. Keep up the great work

I've been a fan of XTC since the moment I first heard them doing one of many live BBC John Peel sessions (all of which I still have on high end open reel recordings). I am going to be a little contentious and say that, despite having bought every album up to Skylarking here in the UK a day or two following release I don't dismiss the Ape House releases quite as readily as you. I had, for example, always thought that the sheer punch of Drums and Wires or Black Sea were amongst the very best in my collection. Despite this I can honestly say that the sheer dynamic punch from the corresponding Ape House releases is even greater. Thank you for a fascinating video nonetheless and you may be interested to learn that despite not "getting into" Nonsuch until many years after release it is now my favourite XTC album !

Donald Trump is a huge XTC fan. Probably not, but why not....One of my favorite bands from the 80's.

By all accounts it seems The Village People are his current favorite.
