The hype about Cardan is only because of two reasons: 1. The jude-jude-jude letter. 2. The last 40 pages.

@@june9626 I don't think there was even a romance in there, according to me it was just hormonal. The readers just hyped it. - I am reading The Wicked King and I can say whatever is between Jude & Cardan, it is just pure attraction and nothing more.

I absolutely HATED the cruel prince! I was expecting a good fantasy book about fairys and got a bad high-school drama with fairys 😒 honestly Carden and the others were nothing but bullys and the love story made absolutely no sense to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

I loved the book! Although I can see why ppl don’t like it because they think it’s more of a “high school bully thing,” regardless I definitely recommend to ppl who haven’t read it!

Totally agree with you about Cardan! I didn't get why people shipped him and Jude when he has only been a terrible person to her. Even after reading the book, I still don't really know how to feel about him lol but I look forward to seeing how things play out in the next one.

I could definitely see why people think The Cruel Prince is overhyped. I didn’t like it at first but after I finished it I loved the characters that weren’t very likable and the plot twists. It’s super intense and I actually enjoyed that.

And Jude was a pretty strong character who didn’t really want to take shit from no one 😈

@@AshleyOutpaged I am currently reading it as well. Its actually a reread because I wasn't sure what rating to give it. I read it when it first came out because I got it from owlcrate. So I wanted to see what all the hype is about. This reread isn't helping much so far, I am currently a little over 200 pages in, and I still don't know how to feel about it. I actually like Vivi, but she's the only character I really like. I am still going to read the wicked King because I bought the special edition crate from owlcrate. And I usually like to read the first 2 in a series before I give up on it. I vaguely remember liking Cardan a little bit more than Jude towards the end of the book. And I did enjoy around the last 75 to 100 pages, my first time reading it. Right now I would probably give it 2 to 2 1/2*. But that can change before I am done reading it. I don't think I would give it more than 3 maybe 3 1/2*.

OHHH Ash, I would love to join a manga club with you. Im sure it would be awesome. Im currently reading Waiting For Spring. It's now one of my favorite shoujo manga . I dont know if you read a ton of shoujo manga, but I found this series very unusually Healthy in terms of the romance XD. Normally, the girl would be deny her feelings and brush it off or the guy to be a complete jerk to her.But in Waiting For Spring, its almost relatable how oblivious they act towards one another. Its just adorable. Another thing is that they dont have unnecessary drama ( that I so far see )

Loved the reading vlog!!!🐱 I feel the same about the cruel prince, in 3:20 you said exactly what I think😂 I still don’t get why people like him so much. I have to admit that I like it when male characters have that kind of ‘bad boy syndrome’ but I felt like Prince Cardan was JUST AN ANNOYING BULLY AND A TERRIBLE PERSON. I think I know the scene you’re talking about, is it when they make Jude eat that fruit right? The book gets a bit better toward the end though, it’s more interesting. And I love waiting for Spring, it’s so cute!! (An unnecessary but important question: are you team Aya or team Towa?😂)

I liked The Cruel Prince alright at first but when I hit the half way point and realized a huge chunk of the plot (the most interesting fucking part!!!) was missing I hated it. Not continuing the series. Don't got time for that shit. I also started and dnfed the Tithe series. I seriously think Holly Black as a whole is over hyped. I don't foresee myself picking up any more of her books in the future.
