I can't believe someone would buy a concert ticket just to be rude and try to pick a fight with Ian Astbury! I'm sure he's had to deal with jerks like this many times in his career. You know the kind, those jealous wannabe rock stars that never made it! I read that during one of their past concert tours some guy was spitting on the stage and Ian literally dived off the stage into the crowd and started pounding this guy! I would have paid extra to have seen that! I love The Cult! 💘 I love Ian and Billy! ROCK N' ROLL FOREVER! I love the show of support for Ukraine! FREEDOM FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Well on the Electric tour, Ian hit my mate's brother in the head with his mic stand for no reason (probably Ian was pissed or high). Then lots of people in the crowd spat at Ian and at no point did he look like he would leave the stage to pound anyone that night. He's a strange bloke with an even stranger accent 😁

Energy that spans decades with no sign of waning that I can see. @ioangealy I wish there was a way to transfer the energy you got from one of the shows you saw to me through the internet. So glad they are touring and they all look super healthy and shredding. Ian sounds so damn good. I loved this band since i was a little skate rat. It would drive my nuts singing my ass off and you see that one person who only went to the show to hang out with friends or wanted to fit in. It reminded me of english class in college when the teacher stopped everything and asked me what i was doing there. Suddenly all the attention was on me. I thought i was flying under the radar but she must have gotten sick of me doodling and not paying attention. I'm sure she hated her job and took it out on me. I failed that semester and went back home. I couldn't handle all that freedom and had horrible homework skills. I just got high everyday and had fun. Not cool lol.

Must be so frustrating for true artists, to perform in front of todays audiences of apathy and indifference, compared to how alive audiences were, before all the technology, phones, social media came into being, its just subdued and dumbed down people now, so glad I could experience the music, in the 80s.

And the best rocker voice, second to none (his only peer was Freddie Mercury, and even when Freddie was alive, you'd be pressed to compare both voices - alas, at that time, the Queen had access to much better recording studios, while The Cult would not; the full range of Ian's voice is only noticeable on the recordings made in the 1990s).

Maybe because the younger crowd doesn’t care about Rock music anymore and he hates Apathy. He can sense it from the crowd if they aren’t having a good time. But you’re right something more is bothering him. Who knows what it could be? Maybe the horrid state of the World 🌎 right now? People used to look forward to the future thinking life would only get better and instead we are living in a Dystopian nightmare. A damn Pandemic for two years that refuses to go away. A hideous and ugly War in Ukraine with daily videos of death and destruction, pain and suffering brought to you in real time via the Internet which wasn’t possible before. It’s brought the ugliness of War to you in HD directly. It’s hard to take and would bring anyone down! Overall, the 21st Century is turning out to be a Bust! Starting out with a Plague that has killed 6 million people and a hideous War that has killed at least 50 thousand innocent civilians and is not stopping anytime soon. Nobody foresaw any of this garbage! I was actually optimistic but now I’m not anymore. And disgusting mass shootings by Miscreants in Public schools killing little children. 17 dead, then 21 dead. Constant repeating shooting sprees every few months. It’s appalling evil and sick! Just bad times all around and now an imploding Economy to boot with working people struggling to get by because of 10 percent inflation. And our dumb and incompetent leader who can’t solve any problems but creates them instead. Deliberately. 👎🏻🦨
