Best play, Draisaitl fanning on a pass, recovering the puck, maneuvering through the Canucks players legs to then make a one hand/backhand pass to the point, gets the puck back and scores down low. Fricking Awesome.😊

Have you guys considered showing clips of some of the plays you describe? Sometimes I can't remember the plays you guys describe. Might add to the podcast.

I had that Wizard of Id too. Love it!

Oilers have had no puck luck. That changed. Lankanen had been covering up a lot of problems and earned a lot of points they may not have deserved. That also changed!

Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Vancouver Canucks. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones like the Cult of Hockey compiles. My comments and observations at the end. Statistics for Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks November 9th, 2024 Edmonton Oilers: Draisaitl 1 Goal, 1 Primary Assist Perry 1 Goal Arvidsson 1 Goal Brown 2 Goals including GWG McDavid 1 Goal (PP), 1 Primary Assist, 1 Secondary Assist Kulak 1 Goal, 1 Secondary Assist Janmark 2 Primary Assists, 1 Secondary Assist (man was WORKIN!!!) Hyman 2 Primary Assists (1 on PP) Ryan 1 Secondary Assist Henrique 1 Primary Assist Emberson 1 Secondary Assist Nuge 1 Secondary Assist (PP) Skinner 17 Saves on 20 Shots = .850 Save %age Vancouver Canucks: Pettersson 1 Goal, 1 Primary Assist (PP) Hronek 1 Goal Suter 1 Goal (PP) DeBrusk 1 Primary Assist Bluegar 1 Primary Assist Heinen 1 Secondary Assist Hughes 1 Secondary Assist (PP) Lankinen 20 Saves on 27 Shots = .741 Save %age (Ouch though he made some great stops) Silovs 4 Saves on 4 Shots = 1.000 Save %age (Played nearly 8 minutes after Lankinen pulled) Oilers Canucks Shots on Goal 31 20 Hits 10 34 Faceoffs Won 28 32 PP 1/3 1/2 Penalty Mins 4 6 Giveaways 19 (17 per NST) 13 (11 per NST) Takeaways 3 (2 per NST) 4 Blocked Shots 8 11 (10 per NST) 3 Stars: 3-Draisaitl(1G, 1A), 2-McDavid(1G (PP), 2A (1Pri, 1Sec), 3-Janmark(3A (2Pri, 1Sec) Player TOI SOG +/- PIM Hits Blocks Giveaways Takeaways Nurse 22:07 1 2 2 3 1 1 0 Bouchard 21:36 3 0 2 0 0 2 0 Ekholm 20:16 2 1 0 0 1 0 1 Kulak 20:03 2 3 0 0 1 4 0 Stetcher 16:46 0 1 0 0 0 2 0 Emberson 15:14 0 2 0 0 0 0 1 McDavid 19:56 4 1 0 1 0 1 0 Draisaitl 19:18 4 2 0 0 0 1 0 Nuge 19:17 2 1 0 0 1 0 0 Hyman 17:25 2 0 0 0 0 2 0 Brown 15:01 5 2 0 0 0 0 0 Henrique 14:00 0 2 0 2 1 0 0 Arvidsson 13:51 2 1 0 0 0 0 0 Podkolzin 13:50 1 1 0 1 0 2 0 Perry 12:54 1 2 0 1 1 0 0 Janmark 12:53 0 3 2 1 0 1 0 J Skinner 12:17 1 -1 0 0 0 0 0 Ryan 10:18 1 2 0 1 2 0 0 Oilers Faceoff Breakdown: Won Lost Percent Draisaitl 13 10 56.5 Nuge 5 5 50.0 McDavid 4 9 30.8 Ryan 3 5 37.5 Henrique 2 0 100.0 Janmark 1 0 100.0 Perry 0 1 0.00 Brown 0 1 0.00 Arvidsson 0 1 0.00 Canucks's Faceoff Breakdown: Won Lost Percent Raty 9 5 64.3 Pettersson 8 8 50.0 Bluegar 7 6 53.8 Miller 6 8 42.9 Heinen 1 0 100.0 Aman 1 0 100.0 Suter 0 1 0.00 Again, waiting for surgery, couldn't watch the game. Another game I listened to. Things I noticed from the stats: Oilers 10 Hits, Vancouver 34. Oilers 19 Giveaways, Vancouver 13. Ignoring the rest Play LaBamba Baby, 2 points against a division rival where instead of being 2 points behind them in the standings when we could have been 6 points behind them if we lost. Yes, Vancouver was without Brock Boeser who is one of their best players but the Oil still came up big. First Oilers goal came 4 seconds after the PP had expired so almost 2 out of 3 PP goals (though the PK still let in 1 of 2 so it still blows). The third period was the death knell for Vancouver. Lankinen made some great saves otherwise this one could have been a lot worse but he still got pulled with about 8 minutes to go and Silovs was put in (4 shots, 4 saves). The Mailman (Janmark) delivered (3 assists). Connor Brown with 2 goals. Emberson with a point. Nuge got a point. Henrique, Ryan, etc. Yes McDavid and Draisaitl had great games (and Arvidsson scored and the Kulak goal got a primary assist from McDavid) but the 3rd and 4th lines delivered 3 goals (kind of 4 with the Kulak goal but, again, McDavid on the ice so...). Oh, yeah, one other interesting fact, the ONLY Oiler below 0 on +/- was Jeff Skinner at -1. Everyone else was 0 or higher with Kulak and Janmark being +3 on the night and Ryan, Perry, Nurse, Henrique, Emberson, Draisaitl, and Brown being +2, everyone else was +1 except Hyman and Bouch who were 0 and Jeff Skinner -1. Work on that D Side Jeffy, work on the D Side. If Stu Skinner didn't let in that late PP goal (and it was a nice goal) he would have been .900 Save %age but has to settle for an .850. Take care all

Oilers good win❤ Good thing Oilers pk needs work still.😢 Bad thing

Oilers positioned themselves better through most of the game. They decided to go equal opportunity with the outside shots and inside scrambles. Just when Vancouver was getting momentum Knoblauch used his Timeout and settled it all down and it never went Vancouvers way again. They were definitely up for this game. I would say the Nucks were too but couldn't match.

Oilers caught the Cunuck sure outa luck. Van is a better team by far then they showed tonight, looked old slow and moldy with Sieve goaltending. Glad the Oilers took advantage of it.

I hear the "Grease Stain" have another whining baby problem besides McJesus ....but he's stuck in the net . Why was it that Skinner was all upset and angry at his team....was it watching his crappy defense (?) or just having to listen to the prima donna's in the D.R. .....this whole team has a very shaky ego at best ....one win and they are all very happy ....we will see how long it takes before they at each others throats again .
