All cultures are as equally evolved. But not all of them are as equally successful.
@interculturalenglish97944 жыл бұрын
I agree for sure, but we should also remember that different cultures can measure success differently. For example, the U.S. has dominated the world culturally and economically for the last 100 years, but if we look at research on general happiness of the population, then there are other cultures that might consider themselves as more successful.

So what would be the difference between the two levels below the surface ?
@interculturalenglish97943 жыл бұрын
Just below the surface are the things we can think about consciously and use language to describe. At the deeper levels, it's more about how people feel. These are the things we don't quite understand and are very difficult to articulate. We can only explore these parts of our culture (and ourselves) through the arts.
@myacc76623 жыл бұрын

Media and demographic is external or what ????
@interculturalenglish97944 жыл бұрын
I understand if you don't agree with my choices because this isn't an exact science. I have The Media as external because most mass media outlets are international organizations. I have Demographics as external because it is often affected by outside influences and events, including, migration, war and disease. I doubt there will ever be full agreement on many of these kinds details, but the idea of the iceberg as a metaphor for culture will remain a useful study tool.
