"I'm no good with stories and stuff, and I'm a very bad communicator, generally," says one of the greatest songwriters of all times. All of Robert's songs are vivid stories. I've listened to The Cure since I bought the Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me cassette in 1987. I saw it on the shelf in the mall music store while on an out of town high school choir trip. I bought it because I liked the artwork. I'd never heard of The Cure before in my small Texas town, and Kiss Me sent me down a rabbit hole and beyond. My first Cure concert was the Disintegration Tour at the Starplex Amphitheatre in Dallas, TX in 1989. Ah, such memories. Every Cure song takes me back to a special moment in my life that I will cherish forever. Thank you, Robert Smith!

Very few bands have mastered connecting the artistry of: lyrics, vocals, instruments, musical moods, mystique, story-telling, and sounds, into unique, memorable, beautiful songs. You’ve had me smiling for years. How ever far away...How ever long I stay...What ever words I say, I will always love the Cure.

Still a classy man with a classy band. I especially liked that he mentioned the deceased Andy Anderson, one of the several drummers who played with The Cure. Robert Smith and The Cure deserve all the accolades and recognition that they get.

"I'm not a very good communicator." I'm right there with you Robert. Extremely shy myself. I love what he said about Simon and Andy Anderson. Very thoughtful. The Cure really earned to be inducted. Iconic and yet true to who they are. The music has been poignant and stunning throughout the years.

Depeche Mode and The Cure... Not too many others can say that they made music for over 40 years and still are perfect at what they do... Love it! And although the is the MOMENTO MORI moment for all of us, let's celebrate and enjoy what we have and go and listen to THE CURE and DEPECHE MODE!.............

This man is a real rockstar in my mind. A true artist, sincere, smart, different, humble, mysterious, etc. Most of the other people from the 80s who were referred to as rockstars were just morons. This guy was the real deal.

To me The Cure are probably one of the most important bands of my life. Like many fans their music speaks to me on such a deep personal, emotional & psychological level. I think it’s helped me to be a more emotional intelligent and aware person, not just to myself but to others. I don’t think there’s many bands whose music covers across the wide spectrum of emotions. From darkest depths of doom, anger, anxiety, isolation & hopelessness to depression, regret and loneliness, loss, unrequited love to bubbling excitement, joy, fun and happiness. Their music is so cathartic, I don’t think I could have survived my teens and young adult years without their music to vicariously express and guide my emotions. Thank You Robert.

32 years ago I stood in front of my class presenting a paper about The Cure and why I thought their songwriting was one of the best in the world…so many moments and cherished memories are connected to their music; and to this day so many songs make me smile and dance or ache…it’s profound what this band has given to the ones who listened. I’m so happy for them, for the recognition they’ve received and for Robert Smith…still alive and adorable, which isn’t sth I can say about every artist I used to love. Thank you The Cure for being one of the greatest bands! I grew up and old with you!

Robert Smith has such a humble, kind way about him and he and his band mates are exquisite on stage after all these years. We had the privilege of seeing them live recently on their North American tour. My husband who's also a musician always liked The Cure, but was more geared towards meta. I grew up goth, so for me The Cure was a must see and I got us the tickets. My husband thanked me after that show for making him an even bigger fan of The Cure than he could have imagined. He had so much respect for Robert as a writer and musician and the entire band after getting the opportunity to see them live. He even found some new favorites from their catalog.
